Massive/Ubi: Any chance of ever "releasing" some of the sound assets?

Not really related to gameplay, and not sure of the legalities involved either, but I wonder if a chance of ever releasing some of the sound assets - particularly the voice acting.

I imagine this might run into royalties issues with the actors, but two years in and some of the voices/comments in this game still crack me up and I'd love to put together a Windows theme around them. Rioters are still by far my favorite: "Yeah!" "You deserve this man!" "Revenge will be sweet!" would make great event sounds. RIkers have a few good comments too, and Larae's screams if you shock/burn her are still funny as heck.

I am sure this will never come to pass, but it never hurts to ask.

would be super easy to record these and clip them yourself.

Very true, and I do have the needed tools, but I don't want any ambient sounds along with them.

I suppose if I redo the missions enough I'll eventually record them talking with nothing else going on, so problem solved.

You could go into sound settings and turn off everything but dialog volume.

    Dang - I didn't think of that.

    Thanks!

No plans on a separate edit for individual voice lines, but the official soundtrack has been available for quite some time if you're interested.

If you do manage to create some content using the in-game sound settings, don't hesitate to share it.

As in all things, time is the enemy. But if I manage to find some and get the sounds I'll of course share!

I mostly want the Survival music from the extraction when the hunter appears:

There's only versions that people recorded ingame.

Just a follow up on this (half a year later).

This is surprisingly difficult to do as described (recording in-game). Not because the suggestions don't work - they do - but even with music and sound effects turned off getting a single quote from any NPC is near impossible. 98% of the time they talk all over each other, so there's 3 or 4 different dialog clips running at the same time and it sounds more like a cacophony. On the rare event you can get one to talk solo usually ISAC (or sometimes the mission narration) will chime in. And in the even-rarer case all that comes together, I did not find a way to turn off the environmental processing, so there's still heavy reverb in some of the clips (because I was supposed to be in a huge hall)

Just running Audacity in the background while running who-knows-how-many missions the past half year I finally managed to capture more than a dozen humorous Rioter dialog clips, but there's still some I wanted to get but haven't yet. I might grab some Riker clips too, but none of the other factions crack me up as much as Rioters.

I didn't bother to post any on a public drive, but if anyone else is interested let me know. If I get more than a few response I'll put them up somewhere. Some of the Rioter death cries make excellent Windows event sounds. :-)

Depending on the audio software you're using you could probably mitigate or completely remove some of the ambient background noise. I don't know Audacity too well but Audition, definitely. It might just come down to getting lucky. I'll let you know if I stumble on any more specific tactics to try and pry out some quality one-liners.
