    Featured Maps are TERRIBLE

Are any of the featured maps worth playing? Nope. Airport has no real flow and is a lazy paint by numbers 3 lane map. Shovel Dodgers, Eden's Gate Arena, and Neon Gladiators. are even worse. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I can make better maps in my sleep. Having to play this trash is a waste lf my time..

I'm also map building during my sleep but the problem is that the next day nothing has been saved !

Definitely need auto-save. That and thought recognition.

I will have 3 MP TDM maps out on Saturday all being well, getting them onto Featured is outside the scope of my map-making powers unfortunately.

I'm done being nice about this. Had a rough night playing the same half-assed featured maps like Toys Room and Edens Gate Arena a.k.a. lazy unbalanced garbage featured ****. Get a clue Ubisoft, none of those are fun. WTF?

Hey who knows, don't be in such self-defeating behaviour.

Just remember that they are probably the best mp maps in the world.

They probably are yeah. Positive attitude.

@NightbayneX - I reckon the 3 maps I made will be featured as soon as they are published so no need to worry.

Isn't this all rather subjective? I've seen this with EVER previous iteration of the map editor. People think the featured maps are garbage, whatever map gets noticed or promoted is horrible, their own maps are ALWAYS better.

It's also why I quit taking part in mapmaking contests, they too often devolve into pettiness, people getting mad at whoever makes the finalists, etc.

At the end of the day, we have to realize that this whole thing is highly subjective. What you or I might think makes a good map, other people may disagree and prefer other types of maps. We might prefer maps that are more aesthetically pleasing, have more details, or show higher level of skill to make. But the majority of people who will never open the map editor might have different ideas on what makes a good map.

If you go into it with this type of attitude, you're always going to be disappointed and upset

To be fair to the OP, the maps he has mentioned could be replaced with better maps (or other maps if you feel its subjective).

Airport is just 3 lanes. I mean I'm not knocking the map maker, its a nice looking map, but I take the OP's point on layout design.

The things is, we have to play the same 5 maps over and over because there is no public player-hosting. I'm not sure if the OP's complaint is about the maps or the lobby design which limits his choice?

If anyone is really upset with the maps there, as the OP obviously is, I take that as a serious complaint, if the game is having a negative effect on him emotionally.

Layout and flow are probably the most important elements to a MP map - that is not subjective, that's how the design of a map works to produce good results for every player and every play-style. Some of the featured maps just seem a bit gimmicky. So on the one hand, I'm all for seeing the featured maps there and I have played them and enjoyed them, but having to play some of them more than 3 or 4 times, it gets a bit dull.

Then why are you wasting your time playing them?

No need to be a ***** to other level designers because your stuff isn't in the featured section. I don't like those maps either since the spawn protection is non-existent fopr either of those, but you can't blame the visibility of those maps on their designers.

Older, more primitive maps are going to be sticking around for a while since it's what people are used to good design or no. Ball is in Ubi's court to ensure new content gets visibility somehow so that people move on to newer content.
