Saw there was a new "Black Out" event in the division.
I thought.. Awsome...someone Cut all power to the City = Black out, reduced the lighting in all areas to just visable in open world areas, barely visible in buildings, And Subways, Tunnels, Basements, windowless buildings,etc,etc,...would be Pitch Black)
You would get a Toggleable flashlight on your chest(that you control), flashlights on Guns would serve a purpose , IFR and Thermal scopes would be very usefull.
If anyone has played Battlefield 4, where they reworked Maps for Nightmode play = They cganged the lighting on maps, reduced the amount of lights on the maps, Allowed you to shoot lights out permanantly, and Underground,Tunnels,basements,etc..were 100% dark..you needed flashlights/scopes to see .in them
Similar to how Massive reworked the LZ for Survival (and argueably one of the best additions to the game) it realy added another layer of depth to an otherwise boring part of the game (LZ)
Anyway, just my opinion, but personally i think this would be a much more interesting and game changing Event then shock dmg(thats fun for all of about 15 minutes then its just a boring parlor trick)
Im interested in your views on if you think a real Black out "Power Outage "to the city would be real fun, or if you think the current "Shock Out" is an amazing concept.
Would you like to see an optional version like Survival added where lighting is at a bare minimal ?
Well, amusing but a bit harsh. I agree with the OP. The tile is misleading. Also, what's wrong with calling it Supercharge, Overcharge. Volt or Tesla, for example that would make sense.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
And I thought the same, turning off most of the amibient street lights and all the xmas lights would be cool, Limiting us to lights on our weapons in certain areas.
A game isnt made for You alone. I dont care for the cheesy shock modifiers.. do i have to go all .. " I Rage quit " ... because there is something i personally find unappealing in the game? ... ( so Overly dramatic...dont do this or i Quit.. thats just a childish response)Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
It would be a Modifier. Or it could be an Optional zone like Survival is..
As i brought up in my post.. Battlefield 4 reworked maps for Nightime play and changed multiple things ...not just some simplistic " lower your brightness settings"...but again if its not your personal cup of tea..(to bad).but It could well be other players earl grey of teas and make them Never quit the game.
There are many ways they could add more depth to it.. like make enemies have half their HP. And double players HP . Underground enemies could have less weapons, less bullets (slower reload times) Be less agressive. More cautious.. etc etc.. etc..
In my opinion. It would add a survival element to the game thats lacking.. sor for the Run and Gun players that think every Shoorter game they should kust mow down enemies while running naked through the streets it wouldnt be fun (i personally dind run and gun shooter games abysmally boring and the player is usually so over powered its just a mouse wheel game)
but there are Many people who enjoy the Tactical aspect of taking cover, of working their way through a zone and content, that dont need ummediate gratification and dont need to be Rambo to enjoy a more tactical oriented shooter where patients and planning over rule invincibile over powered speed runners.
I think something like what OP describes sounds cool, but there's no way something like that would have happened, or will be happening, at this point in the game's life cycle. It would require far too much reworking of existing assets or creation of new ones to be viable...no way are they going to invest the time or effort required to successfully pull something like that off now.
This game is like the racehorse that pulled up lame with a broken leg. You don't try taking it to the vet to fix it...you take it out behind the barn, shoot it to put it out of its misery, and move on.
Bit harse when the Delta's around I just put on God of War. Really fancy the witch in river pass.Originally Posted by Trippul G Go to original post
While i agree it most likely wont happen in TD1, it could be a feature in TD2 (im assuming TD2 Wont be set in the Winter as i think that theme is played out.. so possibly in TD2 in the Survival DLC instead of a snowstorm/Blizzard it, could be a Power Outage. I think they did a great job reworking the map for the blizzard and changed Various elements besides just adding more snow and wind,(and turning down the brightness a little) that make it an enjoyable experiance with a vastly different feel to it from the normal LZ/DZ.Originally Posted by Trippul G Go to original post
Same would apply to a power outage.. there are Numerous ways to change the map,lighting,weapons/mods,etc for the survival aspect to really change the atmosphere of the game in the LZ/DZ.
I disagree that TD was a lame horse..it has its good and bad aspects. And some of them are more personal then actual (bullet sponges bieng the most obvious, i personally enjoyed the game at release.. but others Whined and Cryied, and the sqeeky wheel got the grease as usual).
I have played The division more than any other game on PS4.. and i have played everyrhing drom Battlefield 1 to all COD to ESO to etc etc.. etc.. and none of them hooked me like The Division did..
Sure the game fell flat in many places, the biggest IMO were :
1) lack of diverse Mini-Bosses, Main bosses, and boss encounters are just as un-rememberable as killing a random name boss in thr LZ zone no special moves. Weapons. Tactics. 99% of the game has the exact same enemies just with diffrent names. And it really makes the otherwise large game feel tiny and claustraphic.
2) lack of RPG content in the PvE game. The missions were all linear, boring, cookie cutter nonsense. The characters were all forgettable and the PVE content and the LZ were and still are void of RPG PvE content unless you like playing the same stale un inspired content over and over for months on and.. there is a Huge Open world and fluck all to do in it
There are more and i could go on.. but those are a couple main reasons the game fell flat.. it was marketed as a RpG PvE 3rd person shooter with a sperate PVP area.. and the RpG PVE aspect was thin, repetative, uncreative, and after level 20 it died a boring death. Most people Purchased the gamr becuase it was a RpG PVE shoorrr and they left in droves becuase it turned out to be a shallow shooter.
But, the good outwieghs the bad.. i enjoy the PvE and the DZ.
I like many others see the potential The division had to be a Great 3rd person PvE RpG game.. and i think with The Division 2 they could Nail the RpG PVE game.. id they do that than the vast majority of PvE players could care less about the DZ. (Only reason so much crying about a PVE DZ in TD 1 is the lack of PVE content over all in TD1)
Anyway.. i have high hopes that Massive build on what they learned in TD1.. and they dont give us a Copy Paste TD2.. i also hope they dont change the Core things that make TD a great game i think they have found a decent balance between bullet sponge and non bullet spong for enemies.. if they reduce it in TD and enemies drop lile flies it kills the 3rd person cover based shooter aspect and makes it a eun and gun game.. (id like to see more emphisis put on Cover based shooter..not less)
I never said rage quit. I said I turn it off if I can't see or move.Originally Posted by Giralus Go to original post

Childish is flipping out when someone doesn't like your idea and you start name calling.
How would a GLOBAL event be optional? How do I opt out of any of the global modifiers?
Global modifiers are meant to make the game easier for everybody. Blinding me would certainly not fall in that category.
I am pretty good at this game. I do enjoy a challenge. I also recognize a stupid idea when I see one.
Blinding the players is not challenging. It's just annoying. Turn your screen off if you want that nonsense.
Battlefield 4 is the only game that matches the hours I have played this game.
I'm well aware of the night maps. If all the maps were made night maps for a week,I'd have turned it off and waited for that week to be over.
I didn't like your idea. You made it a personal matter.
Let's end that right now.
You asked for my opinion. Try to be an adult when you receive it.
OP, I agree with pretty much everything you've said there, but I feel like I've spent the last two years talking about what I'd like to see in this game, how I feel it could be improved, and reading countless other people's thoughts on the same.
Some things have gotten better, other things have not. At this point, I just don't have the energy or enthusiasm to care that much any more. This game is done and dusted, any changes that happen now will be minor at best.
As far as TD2, I'm interested, sure. But I'm not expecting great things. I'm sure cool things will be shown at E3, and lots of promises will be made, with lots of catchy phrases and terms thrown around. But I'm not buying into any of it. Not until Massive prove to me that they can make a game that is stable; relatively free from bugs and glitches (major ones, anyway); has some sort of reasonably effective anti-cheat mechanism in place; and has well thought out content in terms of activities that cater to all types of players as well as a loot system that is intelligently designed to minimize the effects of unfavorable RNG.
I could go on and on with pages of things I'd like to see in the sequel, but I don't have the energy, and I really don't see the point. If TD2 looks good, I'll buy it. If not, I won't, and will move on. Simple as that.
