yes it does. Best set up for serious skill builds are 204 GS ARs (for the armor damage) 1st Destructive/ Ferocious/ Determined 2nd Talented/ Destructive/ Predatory. Keep weapon one out while doing damage/ switch to 2nd only to proc buffs then switch back.Originally Posted by dominator0827 Go to original post
The 17% EAD from destructive beats the 10% from competent, and it applies to skills as well. Assuming you are fighting enemies with armor. Red mobs really dont need any buffs to mow down.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
17% beats 10% only if the weapons have the same base damage.Originally Posted by Blkandwhtknight Go to original post
The 286 weapon has a much higher base damage. More base damage and 10% of a bigger number.
The 204 is still a better weapon for buffing skills and can hold it's own with bullet damage but for straight bullet damage, the 286 will always be a bit better.
So if you're going to use Talented and Predatory, they might as well be on a 286 weapon with Competent.
Destructive yields 15% EAD, if I'm not mistaken, no?Originally Posted by Blkandwhtknight Go to original post
Yup Tactical ACR all the way for me on my skill builds - after the initial slight kick you can pretty much hold it on the target.Originally Posted by Trippul G Go to original post
In PVE there's not a whole lot of meta anyway (contrary to PVP), there are a lot of builds and weapons that just work fine (especially when you've got a well-optimized classified build you'll steamroll Legendaries and Incursions anyway). BiS? Maybe not, but 'good enough' and 'fun to play' do more for me in PVE.Originally Posted by Trippul G Go to original post
I have a variety of ARs in my arsenal, depending on build, but also on range/mission. E.g. an LWM4 or ACR for medium to long range, Bullfrog for when it gets up close and personal. Maybe at a Showstopper to build stacks quickly at close range when using Striker or Tac. Got a couple of nicely rolled Houses as well.
In PVP you'll get raped if you don't stick to the meta, but in PVE just use whatever you feel comfortable with.![]()
I use a luckily dropped Talented/Competent/rolled Self-Preserved G36 C. I found that the G36 needs NO stability mods whatsoever to stay steady on target, allowing me to place all crit hit damage mods onto it without sacrificing the handling. Using this with my tactician while a buddy mega pulses, or my reclaimer with me max pulsing, gives me approximately 145% crit damage with max chance, giving me around 60k crits to the body.
