I'd like to request a couple of UI / HUD elements be added to the Interface options as we're currently unable to turn them off on PS4. Namely button controls when fishing, and reload notification for bombs when flying aircraft.
I just want to point out that I am the "OP" and I didn't say that. It was "mr wilson1954". Just to clarify. 😉Originally Posted by OurJud Go to original post

Sure of course it is a sticky thread so it would be at the top of the page.Originally Posted by OurJud Go to original post
You're confusing hand-holding HUD features versus prompts that simply indicate to a player that an option is available, or what their status happens to be. They fade. In FC2 there's none of the hand-holding features of little icons floating all over the screen - cluttering it up and making it that much more confusing. The game came designed as a clean HUD, but not the next game, and at LAST Ubisoft gives the player the option to turn the hand-holding features off. Too bad they didn't include the sound of those hand-holding features.Originally Posted by OurJud Go to original post
It has to do with everything since FC2 was released, back in 2008.
Okay, I'll concede a couple of points there about hand-holding vs prompts. Yes, they are different things, but very annoying and wholly unnecessary. The fact that they're forced on you in previous FC games, with no option to disable them, is the biggest reason I prefer 5 over all that have gone before.
I have to agree. FC2 has so many features that have been lost along the way. Even the graphics/effects in relation to how trees/eaves moved, bushes bent over, fire spread, bullet penetration through objects, animations, how vehicles became dirty, etc. were all elements that brought the world to life and increased immersion. An FC title using these elements from FC2 taking advantage of modern hardware would be an awesome game.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
With all it's static beauty FC5 just feels so shallow to me.
The point they are trying to make is the fact that farcry 2 was designed in a way that elements in the game acknowledge the fact that there is a limited hud which had many interacrive purposes. If you played fc2 religiously like i did youll start noticing these things alot. It had more to do with hunting the diamonds and weapons caches throughout both regions than it did the actual story, it added immursion to getting side tracked in order to remind you that you need to keep moving
