Avoid it at all costs. This is coming from an avid PvPer. The PvP is trash. You are not going to enjoy your self. It's a frustrating experience because of the toxicity, multigrouping, bugs, hacking/exploiting, latency, connectivity issues, and balancing issues with certain gear sets. The gameplay in PvP revolves around strafing in circles while spamming nades and skills.Whoever spams the most nades or skills wins the encounter. It's has nothing to do with skill. You can't enage other players at distance because the gameplay was not designed that way. Burst healing, TTK, and strafing movement hinders long range engagements. It's all about timing when it comes down to gunfights. Not skill. It comes down to using skills, signature skills, nades and strafing at the right moment. The skill gap was removed from this game. Body shots are more effective than headshots. If your skills don't glitch out, you will win.
It really comes down to strafing. This is why PvP is such a cluster****. Everyone is in a circle jerk and no one is dying. Everyone is popping heals and throwing nades.
Disable VOIP. Trust me, you don't want hear the racial slurs constantly being used after every word.
If you want to use tactics and strats, you are better off playing Rainbow Six Siege. The PvP in that game is so much better.
Good luck.
You can win. Kill 1 mabe 2. Or you can change the server or the zone.Originally Posted by Sangersss Go to original post
NOMAD!!!!Originally Posted by Yankee_LT Go to original post
I have two Nomad sets. My main set is 7500 FA / 5600 Stamina, that i use running around the DZ. If I get ganked, or just want to run around looking for rogues because I am bored, I put on my 3,000 FS / 10,200 stamina build. With this build, you last forever! I cant 1v4, but I keep 1-2 rogues busy while other people kill the rogues. It is my most fun solo build. Look at this gameplay below (I only had 9,500 stamina at this point). Only dying once to a group of 4 (and only dying because they had to drop a stun turret).
The video is 13 minutes long, and it is entirely me vs. 4 rogues (well, me running, dodging & a shooting a few bullets), but knowing that I annoyed some rogues makes me smile.
I am sure most people here are tired of me repeatedly posting this video, but it is perfect for this thread.
I get when I'm being attacked by four or more I always run towards the AI's so they can give me back up as I run through. But why are you using an SMG at distance? It's a pea shooter at that range. Use your M4 at range and when they come within 20 yards pull out your SMG. There were SOOO many moments where you could have "Thinned" out those attackers at range and when there are less of them and there pissed off and start running at you, that's where you take down the rest. When one is pissed off they’re not thinking straight. Take advantage of that.
DEM. I fully understand what you’re speaking of. It's not that I want to Tactically take this people down, but more in the style of the above. Have them chase you so you can the environment against them. That's where you can gain an upper hand at times. I just dislike those that take advantage after you have helped them, or your taking down a unit to grab a cache and when there is one left they rush in, kill you and take the cash. I just don't see where the fun is in doing that. I have left so many team members when I see them about to attack one or two players attempting the same. I leave the group, wait and see if they attack the smaller size group, and if they do I'm on their 6 so I can help out those other guys that are out matched.
problem ive found using the environment is that NPCs will focus the non rogue player almost every time if both are within range, its highly annoying. I chase rogues all day long and they will run through a landmark and im watching their health bar barely ever take a hit yet im being pelted the whole way through. They will never admit it but i guarantee if anyone was to ever to put it to a test that Rogue players have less Threat than non rogue players.
PVP in this game is about high rpm guns, and all damage talents etc.
but if you're looking to simply survive an ambush you need to go with a 10k stam build in this meta. Mostly with Nomad.
Or you can go the banshee route, let them kill you the first time to get that extra damage to rogues and go light them all up.
Banshee is made specifically for the DZ for a reason.
But in the end PVP right now is focused on Striker, Pred, Nomad as your set
House or M4 as your weapons
Booster Shot and Support Station for skills
On the move and Critical save as your main talents to use.
if you got those bases covered PVP is usually a smooth sailing vs 1 or 2 people as a solo player. Just depends on stick skills at that point. Against a group, it can be done with an equally competent partner but youll still lose more engagements than you win.
BIG TIP: Prioritize TARGETS!! DONT SHOOT THE D3 SHIELD PLAYER!! Take out the pred user first if you can.
Oh you can also troll rogue groups, fast travel to where they are and put on a 6 piece deadeye set and pick them apart from distance and keep running away as they advance. Kill 1 or 2 and get out of combat to go into the checkpoint. Let them get comfortable again and go hunt them down again. Rinse and repeat. Deadeye users get a lot of hate mail but laugh at the misery of those chumps you snipe.
moesuvious. What I have done in the past while being chased is get deep into NPS's and then drop a turret to stall them so the fire is now focused on them and not me. CJ Fresh. I never go after the player with the shield because it's a waste of time and then I get swamped by the others. Good idea about using "Dead Eye". I'll need to try that one out.
So this is what I'm hearing thus far. Mega Stamina while using Nomad, Pred as well?? or Banshee.
One other question. Does the different ammo (Fire or Explosive rounds) work on PvP or just PvE?
With TD TTK, if you win a 1vs4 it's simply because the skill gap between you and the other 4 was just that big.Originally Posted by mccallew Go to original post
Same with the streamers, they're skilled players but if they have to fight a really strong team, they get folded over just as well.
The game offers very little opportunity in 1.8 to turn a 1vs4 into 4 times a 1vs1 (which is essentially what you "tactically" do in a shooter to win those fights). The only exception to that rule in shooters is when a game allows really quick 1 to 5 man spraydowns. CS 1.6 / CSS were notorious for this (and BF3/4 as well, although those were mostly 3/4 man spraydowns).
