Hey guys.

I just tried the Arena Event.
Can someone tell me what the difference from the event is to a normal duel?

I really do not find any information about it now.

Can someone bring me up to date?

iirc, the Arena Event will only rotate the three arena-style maps, with no ledges or environmental hazards whatsoever, unlike normal duel where the three arena maps are mixed with all other maps and they rotate randomly. As well as promoting the three new maps so that more people become aware of them and try them out. Personally, I love them. I always hated the over-abundance of ledges and hazards in duels.

What Fady said is correct. The event playlist is simply to allow players the opportunity to play duels only on the new Arena maps.

I for one certainly hope so. Since day one i've been banging on about how duels should be about pure skill. Having ledges and environmental hazards for lucky instant kills does not fit in with this. Nor do some of the smaller maps with tight corridors, walkways and box rooms that clearly favour certain classes. Leave that stuff for team game modes.

Make duels Arena only!

Just had a vision of Centurion trolls, just lingering around the walls at the edge of the arena, baiting you to come over..

could we see maybe an elimination style gladiator mode using these maps, no powerups, no feats, no gear score just battle to the death 4v4

Yeah at the very least Tournament mode should be made arena only. This is the truest test of individual skill with the biggest investment and the biggest rewards. So annoying when I get a cramped map against a guard break happy warlord in the final round...

The playlist will not be permanent and will only be available till May 2nd at 8:00 AM EDT. The maps, however, should be available in the regular Duels map rotation.
