On xbox. only played about 5-6 matches since this has dropped But I think it made a difference. Some things still end up being a little wonky. But i'm not sure if that's due to not enough lag comp or if it's just the nature of said instance. I think overall it's fine though. and the devs should fix the buffer issue asap. It's probably what will make the biggest difference for pc. This lag comp addition was the biggest thing for console and the buffer fix will basically make it perfect.
Posted yesterday I forgot to say playing on Xbox One.
There is definitely a difference, and understandably PC players won't really notice much of a difference due to the 30 fps verse 60 fps.
If possible the biggest thing they could do to fix and or save the game and bring people back to it is somehow change the consoles to have Lower graphical quality and bump it up to 60 frames per second. All fighting games should have 60 frames per second.
How many of you really pay attention to Graphics while you were engaged in a fight? I would definitely prefer 60 frames per second over 1080p or 4k graphics.
I know this is would be extremely difficult to do, if even possible, but I truly believe it would save the game
Second thing need to do is implement quality based ping matchmaking, where you're only put up with people with similar ping. Since the dedicated servers with the Ping active I'm almost always the only one with 15 to 20 ping, and everyone else is 32 to 100 +.
Also what's the point of being put into your region when people from other regions are put into your game, it defeats the entire purpose.
The problem is that TVs don't have a high enough refresh rate to display 60 FPS whereas PC monitors do. Even if you could tweak graphics settings on console to get 60 FPS you wouldn't be able to see it on a TV screen. You'd need to use a monitor in combination with the option to reduce the VRAM usage so as to get and actually see 60 FPS.Originally Posted by AICTOOL Go to original post
PC player. Lag has significantly gone up for me, I usually sit around 30ping but it seems others depending on the match are micro-lagging, or stuttering and their attacks come out really fast with no start up time, it varies from match to match but for me its gotten more unstable. even if there aren't any players with 100+ ping the game still gets lagged randomly.
lag is definitely still around. As bad as always, literally just had a guy with 20 ms teleport around. The game before that i had a warden at suggested 25ms where THE ENTIRE ANIMATION OF HIS ZONE!!!! DISAPPEARED literally. Like the entire animation was missing , neutral *teleport* hit has happened.
Just wow...
Good thing you have centurion in the game who gets a free win of getting 1 lag hit. Seems like a smart idea...
I wonder if your servers just overload on weekends. The suggested ping of the opponent and the actual ingame lag are not necessairily correlating. Then again WLAN exists because some people just want aids in their life...
I'm not able to fully tell if I can notice a difference or not.
When I first tried playing after the update I did parry a few more lights than I expected, but a short while later I was startled by my inability to do so again.
I actually think a big problem is going to be relearning the timing. If it's technically slower then I might be attempting to parry too early. I don't know, and of course latency will still be a factor..... I fought a Raider with a 298 ping, it was awful. I think he knew it too because he just continued to let the unblockables fly.
Not really a duel player but I have noticed a difference 1vx, I had been dealing with one person and it was fairly evenly matched then all of a sudden one of his allies was giving me free parries that I hit a lot more consistently than before the lag compensation, I could well imagine the first guy screaming at his screen the fifth time I parried them both.
