I would like to take some time , and Honor the Dev. Team that worked on Far Cry 2 Multiplayer . I just want to thank you guys for the best Multiplayer experience that Far Cry has ever seen. You guys really put your heart, and soul into it. You guys really thought about the Community when you made it , and we are forever greatful . Your hard work will never be forgotten .
The clunky movement , malaria, weapon animations, weapon balancing, healing animations, reviving teammates, and executing enemy's. Made it so realistic .
A true FPS Simulator. You guys knew how to make the weapons handle just right.
It just worked for FC2 , and kept people playing for years , and years .
The Lobby System is just brilliant!
So if anyone that is still working at Ubisoft knows any of the Devs. That worked on Far Cry 2 Multiplayer . Please tell one of them that we are truly thankful for years of enjoyment, and great times.
You guys are truly " The Dream Team Of Far Cry Multiplayer" , and we can't thank you enough. We The Far Cry Community Miss you guys deeply.
Thanks for A truly Wonderful experience.
There is SO much more that needs to be done for Arcade to be PLAYABLE, let alone even an "enjoyable" experience.
As it stands, from the perspective of the map editing community, it's still impossible to enjoy.
The only fun I have with this game is by myself within the editor itself...but that fun gets lonely, and the realization that I am spending WEEKS working on something HARDLY ANYBODY will see is incredibly frustrating.
Perhaps if you guys at Ubisoft could more clearly explain to us why it's no longer possible to implement a FC2 style Custom Games Lobby...if you could explain how it was perfectly possible to implement such a smoothly working Custom lobby system...on LAST GEN-HARDWARE and Net infrastructure..., TEN YEARS AGO...And explain how NOW, things are much different, and much more difficult with all the new consoles, high end PC's, 4g networking capability...
...if you could set us straight on WHY you are failing now where you once succeeded, perhaps the community would relax a bit...if only we had a window into the reasons behind your current struggles...
But I digress..
Anyway, aside from the obvious lack of a viable way to share our content...with friends OR the public...
...there are other things that need addressing-
Off the top of my head-
* Why can I not change textures on multiple objects at once?
If I make a base out of 50 basic blocks, shaded with default textures...and I decide I want them all the be "concrete_cracked", WHY can I not quickly select each block in the base until the whole base is highlighted yellow, and then select the texture I want ALL those pieces to be and just DO IT in one fell swoop? As it is, when you do this, it only effects ONE block, even though all blocks are selected and highlighted.
* What happened to the "snap" feature?...or at least something like Halo Forge's "magnets" system? Aligning blocks manually is a CHORE. Perhaps it's a necessary chore...but I am having a hard time imagining why that could possibly be...
* For some reason, when I paint in large swaths of vegetation, and I like the way it all looks, across the whole map, except for one fern sticking up in the middle of a rock, and I go to dial down the brush size to ONLY address the offending fern and go to erase it, it RE-ARRANGES ALL the vegetation across the map within that particular category of vegetation, and makes other ferns poop up in offending places in DIFFERENT areas of the map, INSTEAD of simply erasing the fern, and whatever else, within the circle of the vegetation brush.
Ooooooh-WEE....what's up with that?...what's up with that?
Look, UBI-
As I'm sure others have pointed out, if it was not for the fact that you're sitting on a GOLDMINE of potential here with this map editor {the BEST map editor in the HISTORY of Video Gaming-there, I said it ] then we would not be so concerned with the small areas of frustrating blockage to our potential fun.
We would simply move on to another game.
You have created something potentially WONDERFUL here, but you seem to have hamstrung it right out of the gate with such mindbogglingly awkward and seemingly unnecessary blockages between the players and the fun.
We know there could be the most HUGE fun here...if only you made a few tweaks...and SOON...before we lose patience.
Why those tweaks were not made BEFORE launch is anyone's guess.
I once had a chef tell me that there was no need for salt and pepper at the table, because the food he cooked was perfect.
I wish that chef worked for UBISOFT...
I keep getting kicked off like within about 1 minute after I start plaing a 6vs6 team death match with a message stating its a "bookworm-2cea2bdc" type error.
This did not happened from the beginning, so I was able to play death match starting from April until last weak, without any connection problem.
But this "bookworm-2cea2bdc" type error just started to show up like 4 days ago everytime when I play team deathmatch..
Yeah and it also takes tooooo much time to even join any match.
Is this all about the update?
That is a high ping error message. There's probably not enough players in your area, so you join someone from another part of the world, but the game kicks you because your ping is very high.Originally Posted by choojii Go to original post

there is a snap feature on PC
-go to the top ribbon, its the magneticon
-place a fence or similar type of repetitive object
-place a second fence close to it
-click on the magnet
-click once on the 2nd fence (left mouse click and hold it down), a red dot will be seen
-then slide your mouse over to the first fence, a yellow dot will be seen
-depending on where you point you can get it to snap to a different position
-now let go of your left mouse click
-the latest fence will snap to the first one
Enjoy!
Really ubisoft you suck at making games jolly ubi what the hell are you guys doing looking for ways to screw up the game. You broke the game by taking map picking away. Why havent you made a lobby so people can play coop maps together what the hell are you doing with all the money you made because i want my money back and i wont buy anymore ubisoft games again you release broken games and instead of fixing it you make it worst.
So we getting our pot of gold as in FAR CRY 2 public hosting on FAR CRY 5 with server browsers and host picks maps or what? Last notes says working on a server browser. But what about hosts and public lobby? Can people click on description of each server to see who is in it and if its public or private and what map is playing? Seems like were already 2 months in after today yet still in a holding pattern and left in the dark like usual.
Word "soon" or were listening and jotting down notes don't cut it. If you guys were taking notes from what I wrote the last decade you'd have a couple books to read. It cant be that hard to go from a public lobby and a host and people pile in. Then either have it like FAR CRY 2 host makes a playlist of 10 to 15 maps. Or change it on the fly and have the host have 60 seconds to take suggestions or picking maps or whatever.
What ya did up until now is a waste of everyone's time here. Bad enough I played 2 hours in multiplayer second week before I quit playing all together. 2 hours and didn't get to try my own map. Then ya wonder why us mappers don't want to finish any other maps we had in the works? Heck I had two more maps pending. But the lobbies are a no go.
