    Awful Performance On High End System

    Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
    AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900x
    ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme
    32GB DDR4 RAM
    ASUS Radeon RX 580 STRIX x2 in Crossfire
    Game installed on a 480GB Kingston Savage Hyper X SSD
    Monitor is a LG Ultradewide 34
    Game running in Fullscreen 1920 x1080

    This game runs like garbage. I am reading about people getting 90+ FPS on systems half as powerful as mine, but even if I turn everything on low, I still barely break 50 FPS. Does this game not like AMD cards or something? IS there a certain setting that needs to be set in game or on my Radeon Profile for the game? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I absolutely love the game.

    Hey there Bates_, can you please try these steps and see if they help. Also here are some settings you can try changing:

    - Shadow Quality is one of the first settings that should be turned down to increase performance. The Very High setting is quite taxing on performance;
    - Subsurface Scattering can also be disabled to gain some GPU performance without a very big impact on visual quality;
    - Level of Detail and Draw Distance are two settings that can increase performance as well, with tangible results between Very High and High;
    - Long Range Shadows on their Very High value are also a lot more demanding than the regular (ON) setting;
    - Terrain Quality does affect performance but mostly on GPUs that are weaker when it comes to tessellation (older AMD models);
    - Very High Texture Quality should only be used on GPUs with more than 4GB of VRAM;

    If this doesn't help, please create a ticket with your MSINFO and DXDIAG files so we can look into this? Thanks!

    Thanks for the response but as I said in my OP, I’ve literally had the games graphics set to all Low with very little performance gains on a system that has 16GBs of VRAM. By all accounts, I should be able to run this game on Ultra with near optimal performance.

    Would you mind creating a ticket and then PMing me with your ticket number? Thanks!

    Was there any update on this? I came back to the game after around a month of not playing, and after it updated I am getting terrible performance. Before, I was hitting 60 fps at very high/ultra consistently with my gtx1070. Now I sit around 20 fps at medium and whenever I turn it has a drastic drop in frames until it catches up. Nothing else changed between then and now, not even graphics drivers. Farcry 5 is beautiful and I usually sit around 90 fps at high, so 20 fps and medium here seems like something is wrong.

    I'm sorry to hear you've encountered this, Pecatti

    Some steps that you can try, if you haven't already, are included below:
    • Verify Game Files
    • Update GPU drivers (If there's a newer one available)
    • Make sure V-Sync isn't locking the FPS, either through the settings menu or GPU control panel
    • Take the config file and move it to the desktop
      • C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Games\Ghost Recon Wildlands\GRW.ini
    • Disable Fullscreen Optimization
      • Head to the .exe file in your Steam directory, right click it, select Properties, Compatibility and select to 'Disable fullscreen optimizations'.
