A discussion for another time: I personally don't think reaching high amounts of CHC is worth it. The optimal ratio of CHC to CHD is 1:10, anything over has diminishing returns. I personally prefer to invest in other attributes such as CHD, Rate of Fire, Weapon Damage sometimes Headshot Damage etc over CHC unless I'm below the 1:10 ratio or I'm running a Crit hungry talent like Self-Preserved. From what I've gathered, the vast majority believe you have to get as much CHC as possible.

I’m checking this out. 1/10 ratio seems crazy but I’m guilty of stacking Crit Chance even over damage to elites or enemy armor damage to a fault sometimes. I’m curious what everyone else thinks about this. I’m at 130% crit damage so that means 13% Crit Chance will be optimal before I see diminishing returns?

I mean, I guess the math checks out, but it just doesn't feel right to me. I usually try to shoot for about 1:4 CHC:CHD. I guess I never really stopped to figure the math behind it.

I notice that this was written shortly after 1.3, from the looks of it. I wonder if the theory behind any of that has changed in the time since then?

That link isn't the only media/article/analysis that has highlights the low need for CHC. I believe SkillUp once had a video about it that was very good. I haven't been able to find it today though. A lot of other videos and commentary I've read highlight the fact that you can reach the CHC cap so quickly (i.e. with a Pulse), that there is little need to invest in CHC - particularly if you're running an SMG which natively grants you up top 26%.

It doesn't mean it's not going to hurt. If you look at that curve, a 1:5 ratio is still pretty good, but the closer you get to the cap, the more CHD you need to make it effective and those levels are unreachable in the game.

For me, I priorities CHD, then I ensure I have over a 1:10 ratio of CHC to CHD, then I prioritize everything else - Rate of Fire, Weapon Damage, Headshot Damage, Enemy Armor Damage (for PvE), Stability or Accuracy depending on the gun etc. Once I have over a 1:10 ratio of CHC I will only invest in CHC where it doesn't compete with any of the above. CHC is easy to get, everything else is in limited supply.

    It depends.

At 50% the odds of critting every 2nd bullet is rather high. It's still RNG though.

Also if the damage difference between a CHD or CHC investment is only a few % with the CHD investment being the theoretical maximum, I tend to lean more towards a CHC investment: because noone has 100% accuracy.

I can't quite explain it as it's still RNG, but I always had the feeling while playing CHC values such as 34% (or above 33.33333333333 % basically), above 50%, above 25%, ... often work well and anything in between you're better of with a CHD investment.

I know it doesn't work like that, but averaged out over a hundred rounds I got the impression it did lead to getting a somewhat similar result to landing a crit every 4th, 3rd or 2nd bullet.

But I tend to heavily lean towards somewhat measuring average TTK as I play rather then using theoretical formulas, at least until the game would actually track my accuracy (similar to BF4 battlelog: https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf...722/1/#aek-971).

I think Savage gloves can exceed the 60% cap (against enemy's out of cover )
