I assure you that it wasn't UbiFrost's point at all, we are sorry if it came across that way.
We take every feedback into consideration, and forward them to the development team no matter what. We do not do background checks on players to decide weither or not forward feedback.
Excellent list, I really hope Ubisoft adds some of what you've suggested here in future updates. Particularly bullet penetration and torches.
It would also be better to have the "prestige" weapons as skins for their normal counterparts, it makes no sense to have what are essentially skins sold as unique weapons, then you have to re-buy accessories for guns that you already own! This seems done just to obfuscate the fact that there aren't really that many different weapons to choose from. It also ruins the sense of progression if you can just buy the OP prestige weapons as soon as you start the campaign, making many of the other guns useless in comparison.
One more thing: let us re-bind the tab key on PC!
For future Farcry games, Ubisoft should look into making the game more like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, especially if FC6 takes place right after 5...
v1.5.0 fixed and changed a few things, and I've updated the original post to reflect that.
I've been modding games and making content long enough to know the difference it makes when someone says, "this sucks" as compared to if they say, "this sucks, here's why, and here's what I would do about it."Originally Posted by UbiFrostX Go to original post
I'm genuinely enjoying the game, and I want it to be fun, so fixing issues is one of the things I'd like to see.
I do have a few more points to make, and I'm going to write them up.
At the end of the day, people are going to be more inclined to listen to you if you can make a well-said argument or make a point without resulting to petty insults and acting like a party-pooper.Originally Posted by leroy198532 Go to original post
You're allowed to disagree with someone and talk about why, but just slinging insults around isn't going to make anyone take you seriously.
I'd second that, along with being able to use CapsLock as a key bind as well. I'll add them to the list. If I had to guess, I'd say the reason we can't bind them is because the keys aren't in the "accepted keys" table of the control section, or that they're some kind of blocked input for some technical reason. Given the keys appear on the keyboard pictogram in the keybind section, I'd say it's the former.Originally Posted by Loaf_Of_Dread Go to original post
In the future all kind of possible cheatings should be avoided in the game. I can fishing in the game.....and sell fish to the fisherman next to me. Fishing and sell. Fishing ans sell. Make a lot of money. This is not good! This can be used as "cheating"! Fisherman has unlimited money. I can make unlimited money only by fishing. Even without hunting. I don't think its good for the game in general and especially for immersion. Fisherman or any weapon seller must have limited sum of money! And better if they will have different wepons for sale! Every seller should have something special. Every seller mustn't have everything for sale! Some must have no bullets, for example, another have no explosives. It will make the game more alive and immersive! Money and bullets Must be a problem in the game! Counting every bullet and every penny will make the game more challenging!
OP, corpses are still shown as an X, only difference is now they are placed on the N-E-S-W compass line at the top of the screen, which does IMO make them harder to see than on a mini map. My suggestion is they offer a choice of the line compass or mini map, the latter of which I prefer. Also, for flight controls, just set your gamepad to Classic vs Shooter mode, which allows separate pitch and yaw, and upside down flying.
I agree with most of your suggestions, but one I see missing that is sorely needed is helis should fly and maneuver faster. Glad someone finally mentioned the pelt ruining problem of Jess' fire arrows. She's a great companion for the most part, except for often being too slow to follow or take a shot, or sometimes yelling and running at prey before shooting them, scaring them away, and the fire arrow thing. The odd thing is, both her and Grace really suck at recognizing and avoiding fire. LOL
The game, when it works, is a joy to play, but these kind of problems happen so often it ruins the experience. I'd like to see more consistency. If the player is in a crouch, especially with a silent weapon, your squad should be in stealth mode, using whispers and crouched, not yelling and screaming as if the animal you're hunting were some Peggie they're hating on.
I'm on a keyboard/mouse, not a gamepad.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
I assumed you were on pad because you described pitch and yaw as being tied together. On keyboard they're not. You control one with W and S, the other with A and D. It's only in Shooter mode using a gamepad that they are tied together.Originally Posted by ReverendV92 Go to original post
Never mind, I thought you'd said Pitch and Yaw, but you said Yaw and Roll. Are you aware corpses are marked on the compass though?Originally Posted by ReverendV92 Go to original post
I wasn't until the former poster mentioned it before, which has helped, but the problem still comes about trying to pinpoint where the corpse is on the Z-axis, and at what distance on the Y-axis, because there's no indication how far away and if it's above/below you.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
That also ties into the extremely micro-sized HUD issue I added to the main post as well. The HUD is so small and hard to quickly read on a 21:9 resolution, that it's not entirely user-friendly.
It helps, but if they added that white ring icon that appears on loot satchels, tool chests, etc. that would adequately solve the issue I think. The icon is already in the game for stationary loot crates, so it wouldn't even require more file size for a new graphic, as well as not needing a new graphic to be created.
Solid post. A couple things I would like to add that I don't think were touched on:
1) Enemy Vehicles need buffed. Mainly the inability to shoot through windshields so easily. I see Helicopters and pickup trucks and just mow through the driver/pilot and all passengers in a mere couple of seconds with nearly any gun (M60 of course shreds them). My suggestion here would be to implement a group of new vehicles that are "armored" that would become more prevalent after getting through 1/2 of the game or so. The key aspect to this would be making them bullet proof windshields but still limited HP so that it is possible to break through them at some point. For example, a normal pickup's windshield could potentially take 3 or 4 shots from a .50 Sniper to shatter it. In return, this gives a lot more weight and importance to Armor Piercing rounds. Also, look into making these vehicles slightly more resistant to certain explosive weapons. Instead of 2 shots from a grenade launcher, it could be 3,and rpg's could require 2 (Note this is on Hard Difficulty. Not sure if numbers change for easier difficulties). Give the poor Cultists at least a fighting chance!
2) One thing that definitely needs worked on is weapon balancing like op said. But something that bugs me is the fact that the identical weapon is given a unique (usually cool) skin but treated as if it is a completely different gun. Not sure if previous Far Cry's did this (been awhile) but I don't like. My first impression of this: you're artificially filling in your roster of weapons. It comes off as an advertising ploy to say you have more weapons (visually) than you actually do. You have 3 AR-Cs that all do the exact same thing but just different skins. Same with the AK-M and 2 AK47s along with some shottys. They are identical in performance (from what I could tell when testing them) yet you have to purchase them as a completely new gun. Just have 1 weapon of those types and throw the skins under the "Skins" tab. And instead of filling out your roster artificially with "copy and pasted" weapons, just release new weapons all together. The Shovel Launcher was a perfect method of how to do it.
Anyways, that's what I have for now.
