    Please read this ubisoft

I havet really seen many threads talking about this. I tryed to create a map in arcade editor and I was very limited. You can only have 8 cars on your map. 8! I would think that since people can run big far cry 5 map with many vehicles, they could run a costum map with 15 cars as well. Second, you can only use 4 textures and 8 roads. So i can't create any beaches with cliffs, normal grass, mud and underwater seaweed, because that is already 5 textures. 4 textuer is just too small. Lets move to roads. You can create a pretty big map and if you want to put in some trails and stuff you cant, cuz you probably used those 8 roads for normal rodes. It would be amazing if you could just remove the budget thing out if editor. Without limitations there would be a lot more of cool maps, which would attract more players. But if someone would run a big map, which his pc couldnt run, it would just lag and in the worst case he would have to ctrl+alt+del out of the game and restart it. I really dont get why this budget s**t is in the editior. Please remove it or increase it significantly.

You haven't seen many threads on this??? Have you looked? The limitations are there for a reason. Some are too low for sure (vehicles/textures especially). The problem is not even so much the number of vehicles (8 should be plenty unless your map requires everyone to be in a vehicle at all times), the real problem is that they NEVER respawn lol. Pretty much makes using vehicles on your map for anything other than racing maps, pointless. If you make a large map which uses vehicles, the match will quickly breakdown into long walking simulator.

From what I understand, maps are supposed to be functional on all platforms (so a featured map can theoretically appear on all platforms). I would imagine this is the main reason for the budgetary constraints, as previous PC editors had none.

And people would see maps with 150 cars, 1500 ai and 10000 explosive barrels, so cool !

Oh wait, optimization is a thing you know, the kind of stuff that many PC users are complaining about, just look at how people react on Steam's forums when they say that UBI fails again at optimizing their game.

Now with this Far cry 5 editor, it's your time to learn how to use resources wisely.

You are on the other side of the fence, the dev one, there is no choice but to adapt.

And again, a cool map is not always ruled by the law of the numbers, but much more with gameplay, level design and good artistic choices.

Nonetheless, all i would like to see in this editor are Triggers, with those you can really spice your map.

Do you remember that update ubi did for FC3? You know the one where they almost halved the budget?
Well there was a workaround for that (by deleting the update, then publishing), and guess what...the maps worked fine lol. Lots of mappers used this at the time.

Im not saying there shouldnt be a budget, of course there needs to be...but i think they should increase it, and bring back the performance metre which would also help map creators see where performance drops.
I once made a frame-drop "zone" in a map on FC2 on purpose, to give a effect of slow motion..but i could still publish the map.

But im also on the flip side, and like to be creative with problem solving, trying to eek out that last bit of budget, turning it into something you want to place/make.

Sorry Ol Barakus, i'm not able to comment on the other Far cry editors as i was more busy playing games.

Anyway, back in the days of the Crysis Sandbox Editor i remember non optimized maps because there was no limitation regarding budget.

So it was up to the map builder to look after triangles/drawcalls via the display info panel.

Some were carefull other were going nuts, but in the end, when it's time for you to play, you may not enjoy a potentially fun map because of its bad framerate,

Optimisation is one of the main key of success, and too much map builders neglect that so Ubi took care of it first.

Absolutely! I just thought id throw that FC3 memorabilia in there.
I feel the game is poorly optimised for MP, somethings wrong, thats why the budget is there! More likely due to not having dedicated servers or hosts.

Dont get me wrong, the budget is fine in most cases. I love playing around with the generic shapes, which use next to nothing. Kudos for that
It just is silly with things like plates and glasses (for eg). i placed literally 3 sets down, and im hitting budget for physical objects in that whole grid.
They should give us alternatives to glass that breaks (and all physical objects). I dont want them there because they break ubi...i want them for what they look like...glasses and plates lol
