Does anyone know specifically how spawn points algorithm work in Deathmatch?
Is it 100% random? Does it choose to spawn you at the furthest spawn point available from enemies? Does it choose the nearest spawn point to an enemy over 100m away? etc...
Does anyone have any genuine idea how it works? as I am looking to utilise them in a custom game mode for private matches with friends
Thanks
There is not alot of choice with DM spawns other that where you place them but if you are trying to create a flow of traffic good luck, I would imaging they are random but you could place them in order and see if that works.
We can test maps now 1v1 so probably the best way to test them, unfortunatey it now means we have to publish maps first as there is no Test Mode like in FC3.
Yeah mate but I'm trying to create a custom game mode for private matches with my friends (an asymmetrical mode where only one person spawns far away form the others, but arrives to the area where the other players are by car with heavy guns that he picks up at his spawn point). Team deathmatch wouldn't be an option because of the specifics of the rules, that's why I am trying to figure out if there is any algorithm to how the spawn points are decided so I can make one person definitely spawn quite far awayOriginally Posted by GRAW2ROBZ Go to original post
It's random. You can't even set spawns and repawns separately. Those multicolor spawns can also be starting spawns, which is very annoying. The only thing you could maybe do is use deathmatch, set one spawn where you want it, then whoever spawns there is the Juggernaut/Rambo/whatever. It would be entirely random, but they don't give us very many options for this kind of stuff.Originally Posted by jb31129999 Go to original post
I've personally seen the shared spawn points lead to myself spawning at the start of a match right behind an enemy, no more than 2 feet from me. I reluctantly shot them in the back of the head. lol
That's just bad spawn placement to begin with (it was someone else's map), however the game really should "know better" and not let that happen anyway.
