How about having a destructive game world back in 2008, but not even duplicate the same level in 2012, 2014 or 2018, let alone improve upon it? That's what "shoot a branch off a tree" represents.
But you ignore the fact they may have had to make a compromise. You're saying you'd rather an empty world like fc2 so long as we can shoot branches off trees ?

Far cry 5s world is the most interesting world they've created to date, with far cry series at least, watch dogs 2 also had an amazing hand crafted game world.

The thing about fc2 is every playthrough involved a different encounter and that is what made it fun, you never knew what was around the next corner.. Fc5 youll expect repetitive respawns of what seems like a ripoff of the damn convicts from park area in dead rising barrelling down the road like some episode of wacky racers

Didn't (and still don't) find the world of Far Cry 2 empty whatsoever. In fact don't need a world like 5 in which there is so much spawning/re-spawning of NPCs that they are getting in the way of each other at all times at any given moment, as you progress by the forced story progression system. In fact the numerous, over the top, interchanges with resistance and peggy NPCs is down right silly. It subtracts from the world created IMHO. Having too much isn't always the best answer to developing a world that continues to keep a player involved.

And again, there's appears to be a misconception regarding what "shoot branches off trees" represents from a game designed on the same engine as 5, ten years ago.

And no, I don't believe Far Cry 5 is pure garbage ...

Yes. I killed Faith, followed by John. The RP for those did seem to fill up fairly quickly (although even then it wasn't too quick in my view) and I probably did do a few side-missions during my time in each region, but Jacob's region just seems like a bit of a grind. I've done all the outposts, destroyed all his wolf dens (including the hidden ones) had two forced captures, and I'm still only at level 3.5.

I was hoping to do all the story-related stuff first, finish the final boss, and leave all the side-missions and stashes for when I could do them in peace, but when I look at the map I'm struggling to know what to do next to get the remaining RP points. In fact, come to think of it, I'm not aware of any side mission and/or prepper stash icons in Jacob's region. In Faith's and John's their region was littered with these, but I'm not aware of any in Jacob's.

Please avoid spoilers if you reply to this.

No spoilers; did you do the Valley Armed Convoy side mission? If so, fine. If not, is it in your journal, and can you not only track it, does it show up on your map? Thanks.

Mmm, not sure. The name doesn't ring a bell. It's a bit difficult for me to navigate the menu system, because I changed the Display Area setting on my PS4 which means a lot of menu info was cropped off the edge of my screen. Unfortunately it seems to have got stuck like that, and no matter what I do with my Display Area settings I can't get the menus back within the margins of my screen.

I think it's safe to say I haven't done the Valley Armed Convoy.

    SPOILERS BELOW

The last forced capture was the one where some guy rescues me and pushes me over a balcony onto a moving truck. I wake up on top of the parked truck in the middle of nowhere and the Sherrif comes over the radio and says, "Get over to (forget where). They got something on their screen you really need to see."

Then some peggies arrived and by the time I'd killed them I'd forgotten where the Sheriff told me to go.

There's a known bug that disappears this side mission if not done previous to a specific story mission. So simply hoping you could check your journal and determine the status - completed, there to be done, or missing.

As for Jacob's region, there are prepper stashes and if you're short of RP and done the other story-related "stuff", time to start rescuing civilians, killing VIPS and stopping the large panel (reaper?) trucks for the RP.

    Okay, thanks.

I don't really use the journal - in fact I don't even know which tab it is in the menu (especially when, like I said, the tab names are cropped off on my screen). Which is the journal?
