I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.
I'm a big fan of the Splinter Cell series and I love that there's a crossover in this game. The Splinter Cell coop vibe I got while playing the mission was a great vibe to have.
But this isn't splinter cell and this is way too difficult for the way this game is designed. Insta-Fail on kills when I can just shoot the guy and nobody would know? Why does that fail the mission? How come when I finally get to Fisher, hold out until we have to extract, and then die from an enemy on my flank, do I have to RESTART THE ENTIRE MISSION FROM START?! This mind-numbingly frustrating lack of checkpoints is both pointless and, well, frustrating. I spent an hour and twenty minutes trying to beat it with a friend, and over two and a half hours solo unable to overcome this sudden difficulty curve and strict fail-condition. It is such a feeling of defeat to get that much farther in the mission just do die from a charging Unidad Soldier like he's the Juggernaught from PayDay 2.
But none of that would really bother me as much if the developers didn't trap me in this mission. Regardless of how badly I want to say "Screw it, I'll do this later, I'd rather go do some missions right now" I cannot abort the mission. It's constant night and all fail-state's still apply miles away and respawn me outside the base. I'm sorry to be brash, but who thought this was a good idea?
So now I'm trapped. Either I manage to convince more friends to redownload this game and help me out of this mission, or I'm forced to abandon this entire save and start a new campaign eight hours in. There is no benefit to being forced to complete the mission before I can do anything else.
Don't give up, it is doable solo. Ive pretty much just started the game. I'm on whatever the default difficulty is. Iirc i had killed the first bosses. The creepy torture guys. My character level was still under 10.
There is a route in that takes about 30 seconds and is pretty easy to pull off reliably. It starts by climbing the wall under the fromt sniper tower. Not every single time, sometimes you will get spotted but, usually its straight in. Theres a spot in the server room in which you can go prone and cover virtually all the enemies that come in, and the choppers cant hit you. The tricky bit is the escape. I realised that the ai team can look after themselves, even when downed apparently. Get far enough away and they just spawn back in behind you. I jumped the balcony and dived out the "back door", a gap in the fence under the back sniper tower. Once out, just run, and keep running. Eventually you will get away.
Post your platform. Im sure other forumites could help you.
All this said, i agree that checkpoints should have been included here.

Luckily I haven't done the Watchman mission on my PC copy and I have lots of missions left to play. I can ignore the Watchman mission and play any other mission fine. I also tested how to get out of the mission restart loop.
I selected Watchman, deliberately failed it and then on the next respawn, which still has you on the mission at 21:00, I simply pulled up the Tac map and deselected it and selected another mission I hadn't completed. From there I just carried on, BUT, you do get the music and audio instructions as if you were on Watchman at first. I just ignored those.
If this doesn't help, I've already let the team know that players can end up "trapped" at 21:00 (due to respawns) if they don't do the Splinter Cell mission. This is being looked at. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you!Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
I know this is an old game and you have probably long moved on, and I know if you try enough times you can get through it, but it would be nice if you could just fix the respawn problem so this mission doesn't ruin the pacing of the game. This problem alone has made me hesitant to buy Breakpoint.
I too understand that we cannot expect new content but it would be nice to have a quarterly patch or something to know down some low hanging fruit which by now I have to assume is clear as day.Originally Posted by Lunacy-8055 Go to original post
Then I realize Breakpoint doesn’t even get a quarterly patch so… the future for this title is unfortunately bleak- as awesome as it is.
Well, let me help you out.Originally Posted by Lunacy-8055 Go to original post
If you feel hesitant about buying Breakpoint because of this mission, all I can say is, consider this mission a Well Done Mission compare to the missions in Breakpoint. Now, if you can get it from Epic Games at less than 10 dollars perhaps you can find some enjoyment to BP.
To this day, I never bothered with this mission but if you must do it, you can always Cheese it by doing so in Arcade Mode, get a helo or 2, place them nearby and when you are done and need to take Sam out of there, If you want to do it for the Daily Challenge then instead of Taking him to the RP, go ahead and take him back to the RP to start the mission then to the final Extract RP and you will get it complete
I learn this from someone else and what he has told me on some other missions work so I know this one also does.
