OK, so that mission is driving me insane. I get in no problem and once the firefight start I most of time get by without KIA but then during the escape I'm always killed. Even after lowering the difficulty to Arcade...I mean WTF. I usually play on Regular, good fit for my playing style and before that I had gone through 30 hours of gameplay without a KIA.
It's like the soldiers during this mission have some x ray vision or something and then I have to START FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!
Anyway, this mission is completely stopping my progress eradicating Santa Blanca and I'd like to get back to that asap. I've tried to skip it by just ignoring the phone call first time around and do other things but he just calls again once the clock reaches 21:00 again.
There must be a way to skip this bs mission, it's ruining the game experience.
What I did, was plaster as many C4 around the outside of the building, on the road, that I could, and a mine at the bottom of the stairs. You can drop them on the way in, or throw them down from the balcony before approaching Sam. Then once the enemies were triggered, I set off the C4, killing many of the ground forces. Then I took out the two snipers. Then once I knew that tno more ground troops coming in, I just hunkered down inside the building, out of sight of the helos.. After a minute or two, they lost interest, and I was able just walk out of the base.
'Tis quite frustrating 🙂 Im pretty much at the beginning of the game so i got hammered over and over. I nearly got out twice before dying and then realised something. When you get to the escape section, just leggit. I jumped over the balcony and dived out the gap in the fence under the sniper tower. The biggest pain imo was the choppers. Ignore them. Shoot only what is directly in your way, remember your team can look after themselves, even when downed apparently, and run. The team and sam will follow so look after yourself and get as far as fast as possible. The chopper may hound you for a bit but, if theres no soldiers around, you can avoid its attack normally.
The lack of checkpoints is a bit grating. Hopefully they will give us some next time.
While doing it, go in to the map, open the missions tab in another region, and select a different mission, one that has already been completed. I used the very first mission in which you rescued the fella fir the rebels. Complete this newly selected mission. This will have cancelled the sam mission. You will get a call again when the time gets back to 21:00, but just ignore it. Go about your cartel deconstruction as you see fit.
To stop the calls altogether you will have to do it at some point. But you can avoid it until you are more comfortable in attempting it.
As bert says above. I used a different account that didn't have the mission complete and captured the sequence I used to get out of the mission loop.Originally Posted by Atrothe Go to original post
It pretty full-on no matter how you approach it. Those of us in T1 mode, many times more so. Choppers doing keyhole shots for example and dudes gunning you down while you are doing takedown on them, don't help; which is T1 in general but just adds to the CF doing that mission.
The suggestion above, by Bertanderny should help you avoid it. However I don't think there is a comfort level associated with mission, no matter how you approach it. You're infil a pretty well garrisoned base and it's been set up so that you must face it's full compliment.
Totally unrealistic but that's what it is.
