Yesterday I lost a ranked match due to the well-known shield-no-ads glitch (again) which made me think. Now I know this is being fixed and it takes some time on consoles. However, as the past has shown there will always be new glitches, with every new season. Each time there is a glitch we have to wait several weeks for Ubisoft to fix the glitch and then for Sony/MS to greenlight the patch. We spend more time having to deal with unfair glitches than not. That is not acceptable in my opinion.
So what should or could Ubisoft do?
Well, in an ideal world there would be no glitches to start with. But that´s not going to happen.
Ubisoft should try to accelerate the review process in consoles. Negotiate with Sony/MS, maybe pay extra for acceleration, but something needs to be done.
But, first and foremost, Ubi has to start punishing glitchers. Glitches would not have the same game ruining effect if the players were deterred from exploiting those glitches. Ubisofts idleness is baffling to me. It is clear as day that this is unfair behavior which hurts the game. Ubi, just send out a PSA that you will punish glitchers from now on and then DO so. Punishments need to be swift and severe. Yes, this will be a lot of work initially. But if you were consequential and FAST with punishing glitchers their numbers would decrease significantly.
You also have to rethink your reporting process (which applies to all reports, also concerning cheaters). It is a hassle to open a report in the first place. Then reaction times are far too slow. And in the end you don´t even tell the ticket owner if he just wasted his time opening a ticket or if you took action. All in all, it is an extremely unsatisfactory experience to file a report and the person concerned probably won´t bother the next time. This NEEDS to change. Glitchers and cheaters threaten the longevity of this game we all love. You need to start taking this more seriously and DO something. I am not one to whine and say that R6 is dead or doomed, but right now I have lost all motivation to play another match, which is a shame considering I really love the game. I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this.
As a fellow console player I understand the frustration however I do not want Microsoft's process expidited. Its there to make sure patches and updates don't screw my console up. So I'd prefer that they take their time and make sure everything is good. Honestly I don't care if I'm informed that someone I reported got in trouble its irrelevalent to my enjoyment of the game because after that game I probably won't see that person again. Also is there a precedent for punishing glitchers and what would be severe in your eyes. Because I'm not gonna lie the last two glitches more than likely have been pulled of accidentally considering its any breach charge on any op not just shields and we've all changes characters at the last second before. Now you're prob thinking that I don't care about glitchers with the statement but I'm more concerned about the ppl who seriously didn't know bout it and did it by accident how would you tell the difference.Originally Posted by RunnerRunner22 Go to original post
Those glitches require a very specific sequence of actions that a player normally would not do. 1 in 1000 may be accidental, but I´d rather have one guy, even myself, wrongfully banned for a certain amount of time than seeing the whole game being ruined by effing glitchers. No offense, but in my experience the only ones who are concerned about "wrongful" TK or glitch bans are TKers and glitchers.
Thing with any software development cycle is that you probably have a QA team of about 5-10 people and those people can only plan for a finite number of possibilities to check for when they begin testing the builds. Essentially when the product releases to the users you suddenly have (in the instance of R6) nearly 3 million users all playing differently to how the even the Director could anticipate, you start seeing the unseen glitches and the action spamming from people trying to break the game in much more creative ways than anyone in QA might have anticipated.
Every season will see a new glitch there's no escaping that for fact but the sooner it's reported, recorded and posted the devs won't know how to go about fixing it. and If I remember correctly the software approval for PS4 has 125 Items on the checklist which all games, patches and digital content must pass before being made available to users (not sure about MS)
The last 2 have not. The invisible glitch was switching to an op with a default skin from an op with an elite skin( not sure what rarity was needed it varied on multiple recounts) at 0 seconds. You're telling me you've never switched ops at the last second. The hipfire just requires placing a breach charge rappeling, coming down and picking the charge back up not a real complicated set of events that could accidentally happen. And c'mon man I feel like you're exaggerating the numbers there I've seen like maybe ten guys use it in a ranked match not saying that you don't run into them.Originally Posted by RunnerRunner22 Go to original post
There is no doubt that whoever does the hipfire glitch does it on purpose. The 'what if the person does it by accident' argument is an insult to those who play the game fair and get their experience ruined by glitchers.Originally Posted by USMCDEVILDOG010 Go to original post
So the ends justify the means. cause no gaming company has ever falsely banned/punished ppl that were actually innocent. And c'mon you're telling me you've never picked a breach charge back up ever in over 2 years.Originally Posted by Aenigmatista Go to original post
Yes, the ends justify the means. This is a utilitarian standpoint which easily makes for a better game. Firstly it's a game (the punishment is not real live prison), secondly console is unplayable for about 2 weeks by all those glitchers which shouldn't be protected.Originally Posted by USMCDEVILDOG010 Go to original post
I've played the game for quite a while and the same goes for those I play against, these people that use breaching charges know what they're doing and don't hesitate. To satisfy your protection of the innocent Ubi could make it public ingame that performing the glitch is banable so people have been warned what they should not do.
