I search alone alot in 4v4 to get xp and steel faster. I sometimes get beaten pretty good by true teamwork and that is actually not something that gets me angry. They wanted to win and that is actually a good thing. If you want to strictly 1v1 someone go play the dueling playlist. Dominion and the other 4v4 playlists are 4 VS 4!!! I actually get more enraged just from reading through threads in these forums that are obviously posted by casual noobs who have no desire to even try getting better at For Honor's melee combat.
Deathballing is just fine even though I've been on some severely harsh receiving ends of a deathball it isn't something I feel is unfair. I queued for a 4v4 experience not a 1 at a time experience.
Wins and Loses come a dime a dozen in 4v4s. In my personal opinion the game is great as it is. I've managed to stay fully inlove with For Honor since Alpha!! I cannot leave the game..it's like...everything I ever wanted in a game. If something about 4v4s change where you cannot play with your friends that will effectively murder the game so I really doubt Ubi would do that. Getting mopped up sucks, but thats part of the game.
I think you touched a very good point, people should play the kind of game they queued for. What you failed to realize is that this also includes objective modes.Originally Posted by IAmOddGirl Go to original post
I absolutely have no issue with deathballing being the ONLY and MAIN strategy in Skirmish. But if I queue for an objective mode I expect to see a gameplay based on objectives.
Majority of the posts here focus on Dominion, no one has any issues with the way Skirmish is played.
Dominion is what I like as well..I just might be more tolerant i guessOriginally Posted by Mia.Nora Go to original post
The problem isn’t that people are deathballing - it’s 4v4 and everyone should be entitled to play how they like. The problem is deathballing borderline disabling the player to the point they might as well put the controller down. Again... I see lots of resolutions and great ideas for game modes, there is very little addressing the source of the problem itself.
Oh, come on, this stupid insult can't work anymore...that are obviously posted by casual noobs who have no desire to even try getting better at For Honor's melee combat
Real noobs can't deathballing as well as stand against it.
Yesterday I met team with overall rep 44 (from 9 to 12 per player) and they once try to kill me 4v1. And that was...funny. They just spam simple heavy and even Conq don't use a lot of shield bash.
The problem is, when team know what they doing, you can't stand a chance. They never let you group up, always use every dirty trick to kill you as fast as possible.
Do not confuse team fight and deathball as strategy to win. I have no trouble in 1vX fights even if I loose em, but not when this happen across all maps and remind hunting. When any low health triggered whole enemy team to run'n'gun, no matter what they did before. If deathball kills one of you (executed even) this respawn time of you will be enough to hunt down others.
You surely can group up. But if you want to recapture zones you MUST split up in the moment. Otherwise it's become to huntdown deathball with you whole team, while they gain points from zones.
You can't understand one thing, I believe, people want play objectives gamemode. Where you can't win but stupidly runing full team again and again and just kill people and don't think about zones, cause you know you will captured it during gunking.
I do love objective modes actually..I stick on a point as long as I can. Rep 105 overall and rep 47 Lawbringer doesn't make me good, but my effort does. I do not dodge and I do not ever throw a heavy attack unless I see the opening for it. If my heavy while in revenge will cause me to eat 2 heavies than it isn't worth the trade so I will play 100% full turtle until I notice a mistake. I might die sure..but I can keep their attention while my team goes for the other two objectives. I'm good at turtling a gank squad if its not 3 cents or 2-3 highlanders. Those two combinations I play differently, but I still tank them well. Though I'll agree perhaps for assassins the patient game isn't as fun, but winning a fight or losing well (you put up all of the fight you could) is the only way to have fun in any game. Fighting or Shooters. That's just my way of thinking though.Originally Posted by SpaceJim12 Go to original post
I also keep a mental note of the timer when I kill someone to know how long I have before they are a threat again.
If my teammates seem to be sticking to a point I'll be a floater. Point to point. I keep fast executions on not flashy ones that take forever so I can get it done with a penalty timer added to their death. I also focus the threats first. If I see a rep 18 warden I might actually pass him up to make sure the nearest point has added numbers for when he gets there with backup.
I do hate the fact that you can change the look of your gear too, because I would use that to gauge their revenge gain. I just find everything to be about strategy, Not just the fighting, everything.
They need to make revenge purely defensive to survive ganks. Make revenge significantly increase defense and lower attack. By lowering attack you have to make a decision in 2v2+ to pop revenge and survive but with lower attack or don’t pop it and maintain your damage capabilities.
This makes revenge in all scenarios only for survival. No more losing 1v1s bc the other guy got revenge bc a bot hit them and ran away.
