How To Fix Far Cry 5's Endgame
For those that have finished the game more than once, you know that there's no denying that Far Cry 5's endgame feels a little weak. Sure there are side missions and secret stashes but after doing all those there's nothing else to do aside from fishing or hunting. Sure, some players are willing to spend hours on catching fish and sniping wildlife, but majority of the players don't want the action to suddenly end after liberating all regions. So I came up with a few suggestions on how Ubi could turn this game's endgame around:
1. Outpost Master Rework - Outpost Master is probably the only piece of effort Ubi exerted to improve the endgame. However, Outpost Master can feel repetitive and boring after liberating the same outposts over and over. I suggest reworking Outpost Master into an entirely different game mode. How to do this? Well, in Far Cry 4, each outpost can be replayed by the player. I think this should be implemented into Far Cry 5 but with timers and specific challenges for each outpost like 2 death from below takedowns or 2 GFH kills, etc. If possible, include a rewards system and a leaderboard, that way players will find Outpost Master a lot more fun and challenging. Also, a separate option to reset all outposts should also be included in the options menu.
2. Occasional Outpost Attacks - Outposts should be attacked by Cultists from time to time. However, outposts shouldn't be attacked during story missions because I believe that would be just annoying to the player. When the player successfully defends an outpost, he or she gets a reward. However, if he or she failed to defend an outpost, he or she loses the outpost to the Cultists and will have to liberate it again. Pastor Jerome be like, "Deputy, an outpost needs your help. Here, I'll mark it on your map."
3. Random Encounters (hostages, supply vehicles, etc.) - Random encounters should still remain after liberating all regions albeit occuring less frequently.
4. New Game Plus - Cuz, why not?
5. Survival Difficulty - Add in another level of difficulty to the game. In this difficulty, the player deals and receives even more damage than usual, ammunition is scarce, and explosives are even deadlier making the player think twice and develop a more conservative playstyle. This difficulty can only be unlocked after beating the game once.
6. Daily Bounties - Add a bounty board to each outpost in all regions. These bounty boards have bounties on them that the player can accept or decline. These bounties are randomized and may range from hunting down an exotic animal to eliminating a very important person. Of course, rewards should be included.
7. Signature Weapons - I believe that Signature Weapons should return. Signature Weapons were weapons that the player had to work for in order to unlock and these weapons were versions of weapons that have special properties.
So those were my suggestions on improving the game's endgame. Let me know what you think and hopefully I catch the attention of Ubisoft :P
