[FAR CRY ARCADE] Another "suggestions" and "ideas" post.... but........ DIFFERENT!!!!
There's probably a billion of these "Suggestion" posts, but I just need to vent my ideas and such here as the Arcade at this moment is somewhat lacking but has massive potential, let me know if these ideas would be yay or nay. (ordering them from most likely/needed to least likely/needed)
A better map selection system
It's been said a thousand times, so I'll keep it short:
- Map pickers need more time, maybe about 2x or 2.5x the time.
- When all map pickers have chosen their maps, players shouldn't be able to vote until ALL maps have been loaded.
- The selection screen should consist of UBI maps [sorted from top rated], Your FAV maps [sorted from recent] and your OWN maps [sorted from recent]. (You can filter for an even more precise search of any specifc map that doesn't appear directly.)
- If you pick a CUSTOM map (Not a featured map) that gets picked AND majority of people like the map, then you get selected as a map picker again. (The reason why this wouldn't happen for featured/UBI maps is because it would encourage players to pick there own maps instead of picking Neon Gladiators or Farm Cry)
- Lastly, this is more for Arcade Hero. Only maps with a considereable amount of hours put in but with barely any plays should be put in the list of maps that get picked. There are FAR too many test maps, battle royale maps and nuketown copys that look like they have 30 minutes put in to make it. Every so often however I do come across a map that plays well but looks a bit bad (usually because they're tests) and that's fine if there was a review system. so after finishing the map you get 2/5 minutes to write a small message with feedback that goes directly to the map maker. If all users are done then the timer automatically stops and then the 5 players chosen (?) can pick their maps.
Map balancing issues with the Arcade Hero - Multiplayer
If a map has "WIP", "test" or has 2 stars or less, it should not be featured in the selection of random maps. That's pretty much it for Arcade Hero, i think it's in a good spot right now.
Weapon rebalancing and TTK
The TTK is all over the place. the pistols are too weak, the melee weapons do practically nothing (takes about 6 hits at times which is fine for your fists, but with spiked bats/shovels? Here's what I would like to see changed:
- Increase the pistol damage done to the body without armour
- Increase the damage done to melee weapons, 1 hit should take away about a third of their health for weaker weapons like the brass knuckles, pipes ect and 2 hits for the most powerful melee weapons like the shovel and spiked bat. I think right now if you hit their head with a melee weapon then you insta-kill someone which is ok since barely anyone can pull it off.
- Kicking should be removed, it does nothing but slow you down and get you killed when what you really mean to do is takedown or punch someone instead.
- Side takedowns should also be removed, it just leads to people getting lucky by moving slightly to your left and right and easily taking you out even if they have no melee weapons (assuming your in close quarters with them)
- The helicopter needs a nerf. When it shoots at your feet, your character shouldn't fall over. the damage it's miniguns do to on-foot players should be decreased dramatically but stay the same to other vehicles.
- However the helicopter also needs a few positive changes too. Possibly make the flares option assigned to it's own button. I don't know if this is a thing, but if you're being locked on by a missle, there should be a sound for it (never had it happen to me, but if it's in the game then you can forget about this point)
- The lock on rockets need a nerf too, how many players do you see with the laucher loudout in Farm Cry? Pretty much all of em since it's a one hit kill. I would like it to be an anti-air only so it only shoots when locked on, so players aren't relying on it for infantry kills. HOWEVER if it can only shoot when locked on then the lock on time needs to be more faster. right now it's a bit too long.
- The assault rifles are in a good position, the AK-47 is the perfect gun for me, I've had no problems with it the AR's other than the scopes are really awkward to use since it barely zooms in, it basically feels like iron sights with a scope.
- The snipers are clunky too. Remove the delay when scoping in and taking a shot.
Arcade characters
Here's the big one, I see NO chance of this happening but just wanted to share the idea anyways.
Right now it is hard to determine what characters are on what teams by sight alone, right? Sometimes their name doesn't show up even when you're spraying them or melee-ing them, even with name tags it's impossible to tell who's on what team. So what if (for team death match and other future team and objective based game modes at least) each team (Red vs Blue) would feature the protagonists versus the antagonists of every Far Cry, or well nearly ever Far Cry.
- The system would function similarly to, say, Overwatch were there would be a selection of characters to choose from and only one of the same characters can be picked (no clones basically)
- Every character functions the same as your deputy character in Far Cry 5 (so no changes to the gameplay)
- Here's where this idea goes a bit into the "this would never happen" stage. It would be a nice touch if they either recycled the voice lines for these characters or got the original VA back to record a few lines. This would be awesome in theory but it would probably cost a &%$@-ton of money, so I would rather prefer they stay silent and just have the announcer talking instead.
- Even without nametags, the whole protags vs antags theme would in theory be more easier to recognise and decide teammates from enemies. However if you don't know the characters all that much then it might be hard to tell, but you'd get used to it the more you play.
- If the list is small then more minor characters can be in the roster too as the Far Cry universe has a plethora of memorable characters.

Would this be better than everyone being the deputy? I think so. Lemme know what you think about this, I only thought about it for a minute so It might be a bit choppy.
