Stuck ? Help ?
Hi there,
Can you please create a case on the support website and submit your DxDiag and MsInfo files for further investigation?
Thanks.
Hey XOEdmondDante, I see you have a ticket. They'll respond as soon as they can.
Yea, multiple tickets close to 70 hours working on it and no fix.
The support team said it was clearly something wrong with Easy Anti Cheat, and that they were working on it and "It's a priority." But there's still been no update or fix. Reached out to Easy Anti Cheat for help and they never even messaged me back.
The real fix? Find a better anti cheat company to work with.
I uninstalled the game, I can't justify spending any more time or money on this one game, even if I did kinda like it for the short time I was able to play it. This error started on my old computer after a normal windows update. New computer never could even get it to run even though the old one had a GTX 980 windows 10 pro, and the new one has a GTX 1080 windows 10 pro, and the rest of the hardware is just as top end.
Uploaded numerous reports ect to the support team. Tried everything they could think of and a number of things they couldn't think of. Nothing. EAC launcher gets to the end and by it's own reporting says it needs a 64 bit OS despite the fact that it invasively looks into the windows registry and looks at the values that log the OS information so it clearly can see it's 64 bit.... Still completes with that error.
BTW the level of spying EAC goes to on your customers is frankly disturbing, I'm guessing though that that's intentional so you can spy on your customers and make money off their data. There's no other reasonable explanation for it.
In conclusion, it's sad. I actually liked the game. Now I'd really like a refund though I doubt ya'll will give me one, despite ya'll breaking it (or rather working with a partner that broke it). But one thing is clear, I'ma be checking for any UbiSoft games in the future. Any of them ever use EAC, you won't get one penny from me. Though to be fair, after this, I may never buy another ubi game again. I liked AC Black Flag so much I was considering buying all the rest of the AC series. That's prolly not going to happen now. I'm not gonna give money to someone that sells me games then locks me out from playing it from their incompetence. I mean I have games from windows 95 that run on 64bit windows 10 no problems, sure I had to do a bit of work to get them to run, but all the stuff I've done. Nothing was as frustrating or as difficult or as time consuming as trying to get this stupid EAC to launch my game.
(Edit: To be clear I don't blame Ubi for the technical aspect of the issue, though their greed has led them to choose to work with a company known for spying on customers and is also known for being terrible and constantly breaking things in the other games they are used with. There's NOTHING wrong with the game itself. The game never launches, the EAC launcher fails to launch the game even though it finds and reports no errors. All the logs are there, EAC itself tells you what it's doing, and you can capture it as it's running and watch it happen in real time. It checks the OS pretty early on in the process completes successfully but still gives that nonsense error. My guess? They set it up so it would have to be updated manually to check based on windows versioning numbers. Which is why some versions (in particular preview and pro versions) get slammed with this error after an update. Which is just lazy. But that's just a guess. If it's happens to be a good guess though? This problem will only get worse since windows is constantly updating, it'll slowly spread to all the players. I thought about breaking open the software to have a peek cause I'm dying to know what the screw up is, but then I decided the legal problems wouldn't be worth it just to satisfy my curiosity. Either way EAC are the only ones that can fix it, and it seems clear they don't care).
