    Well right now I am stuck with this game....its not a bad game but damn I'm running into a lot of bugs and glitches and I just wish ubisoft would tell us there working on a patch to fix this mess....but not a word...complete silence, two patches since release.....just hope they give us something soon.....but until then.....GOD OF WAR! I feel much better.

    As far as refunds go you won't get one. I have requested one and after several emails back and forth am no nearer to getting satisfaction. In the UK I suggested they are in breach of The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and denying my rights as a consumer. No response to this (surprise surprise). Thus, if in the UK and you want a refund you will have to go via the judicial system. Says one hell of a lot about this company.

    I will never buy a Ubisoft title again unless it has been out some months and only IF the probable flaws have been ironed out. I'll never ever buy in advance again. I suggest people buy games via Steam - an outfit that honours consumer rights instead of hiding behind Terms and Conditions as Ubisoft does. T & Cs do not invalidate consumer rights! But this company makes its own rules. It's one area of consumer law that needs addressing. If you buy anything with severe flaws you're entitled to a replacement or refund (in the UK anyway). Software companies have been getting away with sub-standard, inherently flawed products for too long.

    Before peeps start going on about laws and acts and consumer rights and the like, its worth actually understanding them. When it comes to software such as games, repair or replacement is the route taken, and refund later if repair isnt an option. Repair being in our case, patches. Also, complaints ie request for refund and the like, go through the retailer rather than manufacturer. If you buy from xbox, you go to xbox, if you buy from sony, you go to sony etc etc.
    The law recognises games are inherently complex and will rarely be without flaws. The law does not relate to artistic quitality ie if you like the story etc.
    Granted much of this could be seen as subjective, but people far more qualified than angry gamers work all this stuff out.
    some comments here are sounding a bit overly ubi friendly, and don't recognise the frustration involved, but it swings the other way too.
    Quite simply, as it stands, refunds are not the subscribed solution to the issues in far cry 5. There are definitely issues to resolve though and anyone who makes snarky comments in defence of ubi is simply not seeing the big picture.
    The solution in the future is to not pre order or purchase early if you feel the games aren't ready. Personally I've had no real issues whatsoever. But some players have, and it should be rectified asap. But shouting refund and trying to throw the law around simply isnt the correct response.

    Im not always a fan of eurogamers style, but theres televent info here. They say at the top for example that if a game is faulty, you are entitled to a refund. The article itself says however its not that simple, so have a butchers.

    Making strawmen doesn't help your case.
    You were saying it had severe flaws which not the same as failing to be completely satisfied.

    As you reference the UK, consumer law requires that a game:

    * be as described,
    * be of satisfactory quality and
    * be fit for purpose.

    Also, if you do not immediately reject the item, the publisher is entitled to attempt to remedy the situation, so patches are on the way.

    The game was extensively advertised with playthrough. What was seen is largely what you get.
    It's a game that has game reviews that rank it in the 10% best games this year, despite a few bugs that makes the quality satisfactory (for a game).
    It's fit for purpose, you can play it for many hours.

    Ubisoft are not flouting consumer laws, it is simply that your case is insufficient.

    The comments from the "complaining" side are overly reactionary, exaggerated, and from the gut, but that's because of frustration usually. Or entitlement sometimes, but benefit of the doubt is given because there are a couple of nasty bugs they haven't sussed yet. Saying this, the comments on the "defending" side have been almost aggressive in the level of snark. Jumping ip and down and shouting about the law wont get anyone anywhere, but its fair to vent frustration, and maybe ubi will see some of these gut reactions and take it to heart next time. People need to recognise how modern games are produced and are not going to be perfect at first. But the other people also have a right to be pissed off when it seems like not a lot is being done to fix issues.
