IIRC, my load out in my first play through was the Vector 45acp (for the Judge Wolves - set 3 rnd burst, loaded w/ AP ammo - and close cultists), Grenade Launcher loaded with "incendiary" rounds for the cultists at distance, the AK-MS Whitetail Militia w/ HP scope on 3 rnd burst loaded w/ AP ammo for the beacons and I saved the SA-50 ammo for Jason up on the hill. - which even though ya can hit him he won't die (which I thought quite ridiculous considering upper torso shots w/ the 50 caliber kills everything human when hit multiple times - but then they have to show his death scene I guess).
I have seen several folks using the RPG with good effect for keeping further away from the beacons - seems to have worked well for them.
Seems the further ya stay from the beacons to take them out the safer one tends to be....
