Upon opening the task manager and attempting to change the process priority or affinity I receive an access denied error. I have also tried created a new user with administrator privileges and running the game as that user however I am still denied access to change the priority and affinity of the forhonor.exe process, in addition I have tried to change the affinity and priority after completely disabling all security software. After some quick google searches It would appear that I am not the only one having this issue but I have been unable to find a work around.![]()
Hi there,
Looking into this, it would lead me to believe this is a windows specific issue.
I'd recommend booting in safe mode to see if this helps.
If not, I recommend you contact Microsoft Support for assistance with this.
Thanks,
Hi Redbeard, this is not likely a windows issue at all, but is related to Easyanticheat preventing people from messing with the .exe. I've experienced this issue in a variety of games: Squad, Fortnite, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, Farcry 5, and of course For Honor. All games have the exact same issue with getting "access denied" when you try to set priority/affinity, and all games have Easyanticheat.Originally Posted by Ubi-Redbeard Go to original post
Due to the fact that this issue has only creeped up in recent months, I think tjat Easyanticheat had some sort of update which is causing this. I used to be able to set affinity/priority in all of these games just fine not too long ago.
It's damned infuriating and makes me not want to play games that have this frustrating bug.
