After many attempts, including multiplayer efforts, I finally finished Operation Watchman on single player, only to be defeated by a glitch with the extraction door.
I tried leaving the region to force the building to reload (confirmed by the disappearance of the vehicle I had driven there) without success. I tried fast travelling to force something similar, but Sam just disappeared and the mission reset.
I turned off the game, restarted, and--miraculously--I beat the mission again!
But the glitch endured.

I expended the clip and used the weapons cache to show that generally, animations and interactions were working fine. the end of the video is my character lying face down in exasperation.
"Well", I pondered, ""maybe it will work between 2100 and 0400." Besides, Sam and I haven't spent much time together since Splinter Cell: Double Agent. We're both a bit older and grayer and could reminisce about our respective missions in Georgia and Russia back in '04 and '08. Yeah, times were different then. The Ghosts took larger teams into the field back then...three fireteams sure made flanking maneuvers a lot easier. Of course, well-equipped Russian ultra-nationalists were a lot better-equipped than these Santa Blanca punks.
After clearing out a number of outposts and gathering equipment and intel, the sun finally set on our little reunion. We returned to the extraction point, only to find its physics-defying barrier endured.
Ubisoft, I'm an older gamer with limited time. I have been a fan of Michael Ironside since he scared the **** out of me in Scanners and a host of other 80s movies. I have worked for decades in the hope of validation that can only come from scripted praise read in his incomparable baritone followed by a checked box in Stage 3 of a video game challenge. I feel like my life no longer has meaning. My wife and children are strangers to me now that I have succumbed to the nihilism that follows such devastating emotional trauma. I've never been given to the Devil's Brew, but I feel I must numb the pain of existence.
I am enduring the exact similar frustration due to a different reason.
As your perfectly pointed out, Sam is an old old friend, so it means we're both older now, and that consequently means he now has to wait longer for me to finally get the mission right, which took basically about 30 or 40 retries.
We had a very quick but nice chat on the uber-copter I ordered from my buddy Pakatary, just to get him reacquainted to an old piece of a** he already knew well, and cutscene after cutscene, we finally parted way... Just to let in deep desperation as the last check box remained unchecked as I didn't deliver him safe and sound to blondie.
What the heck!!!
After some scrutiny, I found out Ubi servers were DOWN for maintenance, and therefore, my last mission section wasn't cleared and I didn't get my cherished Splinger Cell googles. Well, let's wait until they are back up and running.
They got back up. And they are running. And I'm online.
And still, last check box remains unchecked and no googles!!!
Dawn you, Ubisoft!!!
Hey guys! If you are experiencing this issue please create a ticket so we can investigate. Thanks!
I created TWO tickets already and all I am getting from the local Ubisoft support are really irrelevant default technical replies, like "check your internet" and "please reinstall the game" (on a PS4??!!). Looks like they are not even reading what I wrote!!! Really bad support, so I opened another ticket in the US support team.
mabhz, can you PM me your ticket number so I can look into this for you? Thanks!
