I haven't played the division for a long time. I just recently got the season pass to pretty much play the game like it was intended to be played. So far I've been running underground non stop for gear drops. I've been watching youtube vids off and on trying to make sense of the gear and what combo is going to work best. Right now I'm using the D3-FNC 4 piece set. Everything besides the chest and backpack. What should I be using in those 2 slots to get things working a little better. I am running the 6k stamina for the extra shield toughness but could probably live without it until I start working on harder runs. I also have 4 pieces of Nomad and striker as well. So basically I need a good set up to use to start getting classified gear sets and probably like everyone work on getting a House with a good roll.
If you can get Barret's Chestpiece, go with that.
If you can get a Ninja Backpack for the backpack, that's even better. Why? It'll allow you to run a 4 piece Defence with a 3 piece whatever else you want, due to the Ninja Pack's special ability (it adds 'one' to the number of items you have in every gear set you're wearing; so if you're wearing the Ninja Pack with 3 pieces of Defence and 2 pieces of Nomad, it counts as 4 Defence and 3 Nomad).
With that, you could run Nomad (survivability) or Pred (damage for the SMG)...
If you have no Ninja Backpack, I'd personally go with Nomad for PvE; you get a huge boost with the 15% Heal on Kill with that.
Barretts for the chest pc.
Savage Gloves
The rest d3fnc.
IMO you don't really need nomad because the shield makes you very tanky. Savage Gloves adds more firepower to a stamina focused build. Of course this part is up to you. Make sure you have roughly 121-125k skill power to make the most of your shield health.
Barrett's is "OK." You did not mention if you had a Ninja Backpack, but if you don't start doing weeklies or whatever it takes to get one. Until I got my Classified gear the Ninja was THE go-to for sets because of its "wildcard" ability to blend a 4-pc bonus from one set and a 3-pc bonus from another.
All of mine had 2 pieces of Predator with whatever other set I was looking to build, so that the Ninja gave a 3-pc Pred bonus, which was improved AR and SMG damage (most of my guns were one or the other). If you are using D3FNC you are likely using SMGs so that may be an excellent bonus for you. Or, you could (for example) have a 4-pc D3FNC with a 3-pc Tactician's, which would give you more skill power and skill haste. Or maybe with a 3-pc Striker, which would give improved stability and more armor damage.
Trust me, get a Ninja. Until you get Classified sets it's the best gear piece going now.
If D3 is your thing here's a good run down for the current game. As mentioned if you don't have classified 6pc, the Ninja, 3 D3, 2 Pred works really well. Heaps of damage.
