PvP is sadly embarrassingly bad, which is baffling as an even half decent multiplayer would compliment the wonderful editor that has obviously been made with a lot of consideration and thought.

Waiting on a response from Ubi.

Agreed on the above. The idea of a fast-paced PVP mode to compliment the other hardcore 4v4 modes in their other titles (Ghost Recon, Seige) was nice. The problem is that this mode isn't fun. This isn't just a map problem, but a fundamental problem with the time to kill (TTK), hit reg., lag, damage model, and weapon performance. My biggest complaint is the extreme difference between a single bullet needed to kill someone with a headshot and the amount needed to take someone down with any other hit. You shouldn't need a clip or two to kill someone with body shots (sniper rifle and explosive guns aside). This leads to too many instances where your intended victim can turnaround and headshot you, literally run up and do a take down on you, get to safety and heal, or his teammates can destroy you. The counter argument to this is to just aim for the head, but between bullet spread, lag, and poor hit registration/ tiny hit box, it's a frustrating experience scoring that juicy shot without being super close range with a shot gun or high rate of fire gun. The result of all of this is not fun. It feels like RNG killing a lot. A random lucky shot and you're dead from a head shot or vis versa. You see this in huge swings of your own KDR. Going 20-3 one round and 1-10 the next, all with the same people.

All of this is compounded by the game rewarding kills and punishing little for deaths. Rampaging in on Deathmatch is a positive thing because kills matter, not deaths. You're back in the game in seconds, so it benefits you more to jump right back in and go for at least one kill per death than playing carefully. This compounds on the mechanics stated above and breaks the risk to reward model too.

I still have hope for the PVP in this game, but it needs help. It needs to feel fun. It needs to feel like some measure of skill matters. Right now, for me, it just feels like a bunch of players scrambling around a map in chaos. You throw in some of the other complaints about map curation, spawn camping, and cheating, and it makes PVP on any other current Ubisoft game seem like a better idea on any given night.

No doubt the worst I’ve seen from any game in years!

Played 2 hours of the arcade and it was so bad I ended up selling my disk the next day.

    Matter of taste?

It might be just your personal choice of taste in games. I have only seen one other bad review about the game so yours makes two.
Maybe this game just isn't the style you prefer to play?

The Arcade part of Farcry 5 is an attraction to probably thousands of players.
With a huge Map making community that is making maps that are really fun to play, even when the map isn't even good because the action in the map is fun, people give the maps a "like" for it.

The variety of maps to choose from can be over whelming so there is a "Filter" option to help you locate the sort of maps you like to play.

(plug) I made a map called "Bar Brawl" Bounty Hunt variety, and the difficulty was made intentional... enemies start out slow to get you and it gets progressively harder to to stay alive as more enemies are added. It is what makes my blood start pumping to survive, win and escape.
Some people like that sort of game, others just are looking for the easy mode of Arcade maps, Bar Brawl is not one of those "easy mode" maps.

Perhaps you tried a few maps that were too difficult? or poorly made?.. but I can tell you, I've played the Ubisoft maps and some of the player made maps and I haven't found even one to be bad, let alone bad enough to sell my game disk.

Machini5t...yes it may be people’s taste in game play that determines if they like the Arcade. For me, it would be much better if the maps were bigger and were setup more like FC3 or 4. I like the custom map option and glad they included it, but many of the options that made FC3 and 4 so great to me are no longer included.

The small maps and quick short time frame is not my taste for multiplayer and I’m dissatisfied. I was expecting more of what the franchise offered before. So many first person shooters seem to follow the quick and fast pace that requires players to just run and gun. I prefer to find those hard to get to places and pick off players with a sniper rifle, but this way of playing has been eliminated in the Arcade. There have been a few maps I like, but they are over so quickly and then you have to play several maps that are not my taste. Even making a map, the starting grid is too small and after reading others comments about never being able to play their map because it never shows up....seems pointless. Maybe Ubi will do an update to my liking!

It's not a matter of taste, there's straight up logic that makes it bad.

-No time to choose maps and even if you manage to select a map everyone has already voted for the maps they can actually see the screeenshot of 1st.
-TTK is too much difference between body and head.
-LAG, this is the killer for me and probably everyone not euro or US, here in Australia it feels like i'm being matchmade with people 300ms away, i try to leave and get another game but always get put back into the same lobby. Also to add to the issue there is zero lag compensation to adjust and ubi in there wisdom made it a fast moving play style which increases the discrepancy between visual location and actual location(makes lag worse).

Maps themselves i have no issue with, new mappers can do what they like in there, they can make the worst maps ever and it still wouldn't bother me as long as players get a good go at a proper map selection process.

What so mine makes 2 plus the 6 other people that agreed in this thread, which totals 8? Evidently you haven't either looked around on these forums at all or your trolling. Because your the second person Iv seen defending the multiplayer.

And 'my' (I didn't write the article buddy) bad review isn't about the whole game its about the multiplayer. Maybe that can explain why you start writing an essay defending coop maps, when clearly this thread is talking about Multiplayer, not Co-op and not the whole game. Smh
