    Charmzz Help PK

Charmzz you said you have a rep 47 PK? I have a rep 12 pk (Played in beta was always my favorite hero just quit for a loooooong time)

    Any tips or tricks?

I struggle a lot of times against orochi less so now than before a lot against turtling wardens or shoulder spamming wardens..

what are the zone select options I keep reading about? Just the ability for her to cancel or apply bleed or let it fly?

Rep 48 now, heading to 50.

Zone option select means that you can counter or parry alot of attacks and feints with a Zone. Example: you have your guard match the opponent guard. If he attacks and you input Light+Heavy the options are: you parry his attack or, if he feints it when it was a heavy, you hit with your Zone. That's because the Heavy input will be registered as a parry, no matter if you input Light at the same time. It is so good on PK because the Zone is a 400ms attack and will counter alot of mixups just by being that fast.

If you want to play really cheesy you can always walk up to your opponent and use the option select Zone twice, then back up to regain stamina.

Another, but less effective, option select is the Dodge as it will Deflect or Dodge the opponents attacks. But that is available for every Character with a Dodge-Attack, on PK and Shaman it is just a bit better cause of the low 500ms recovery time after Dodge.

Against Orochi: keep your guard top to parry his top Light and prepare to dodge -> deflect right for his Zone. Orochi shouldn't be a big deal as he does not have alot of options.
Against Warden: if the Warden goes for a SB from neutral just throw out a Light. Simple as that. If he hits you with a Light and goes into SB -> roll away if you don't know the timings of SB. You can be patient and wait what Warden will do, he can only cancel or cancel into GB his SB within the first 400ms of the move. 700ms until he can release it. So wait a brief period of time, and if he didnt cancel into GB you can dodge without having to fear the GB.

I was a little stretched for time when I originally typed this up and seem to have completely forgotten to say.. I'm absolutely AWFUL at fighting berserker.
Any tips for that? The feints are so fast and I have a hard time trying to keep up with them and even when I do get a hit it doesn't interrupt him because of Hyper..

In other words zerk absolutely annihilates me.

I'm not charmzzz but i'd like to chime in anyway and give some helpful tips~
So charmzzz explained zone option select well.
Some other general tips I can give would be:

~learn to delay your second light after your first light wether you whiff the first light or land it. The way FH currently works at the moment is moves that are delayed after a previous input seem to come out faster than they normally should. I couldn't explain to you why. But it's a concept you should pick up for any hero in general. Buffered attacks (or attacks you input during another input) come out slower than non buffered ones. So you ideally would delay your in combo attacks as often as possible.

~Dagger cancel on bash mix ups/bashes in general. I find this to be far easier to do than bait GB them. usually after a dagger cancel i'll follow up with a zone cancel.

~heavy soft feint into GB I really only find effective if me and the other person constantly heavy feint looking to bait a parry.

    As for specific match ups..

Orochi: The rochi's I typically fight like to storm rush cancel often. so if I recognize this I usually follow them with a forward dash attack. They also like to follow up nearly every action with a GB or a zone. If I fight a GB happy one I just throw a light. if it's a zone one I deflect. Dodge attack ones are just parried easily.

Warden: I dagger cancel the heck out of bash cancels/attempts. I've vs warden enough to reliably deflect his zone if I want to. Beyond that their standard bait game is top heavy feint into top light. The top heavy from neutral is rather slow though so you can zone option select it rather safely. Or you could always just dodge attack it.

Zerker: You can zone option select cancel into a deflect on any HA attack he throws. it really messes them up. Be wary of whiffs from neutral as they'll likely follow it up with a HA attack. If the zerker is more committed to comboing you just gotta recognize the heavy in combo and parry it if they like to spam the neutral heavy feint into HA light you just have to get decent at blocking it. Unlike most heros you have to push the aggression on zerk as if you let them go they'll chew you up. Don't be overly aggressive. But apply pressure. even if it's just feint games. Also you techincally have some range over zerk. so you can use that to your advantage.

Another really awesome thing to do is heavy-dodge cancel into dodging heavy strike. You can do this to bait out heavies for free deflect, or at melee range to bait a reaction then come in forward or to the opposite side (think side indicator flash either left or right, so the opponent either blocks or tries to parry, then gets stabbed in the face.) for a nice heavy-follow up bleed. You can even use this to slightly extend the range of your forward dashing strike by a smidge. Best part is I've not seen very many other peacekeepers do it, so it's pretty uncommon.
Edit: the input had to be pretty quick to pull this off, so set guard to one direction, then heavy input-change direction+dodge input-heavy input+ light input. I suggest practicing this maneuver on a level 0 bout to get it down before taking it live.

So to clarify because I'm a little unsure, what you are saying is Heavy but before it goes change direction and dodge then zone attack?

No, although that might work just as well, I've never really tried that as a zone takes a lot of stamina. Think of it as a heavy feint through dodge leading into a dodging strike. The light is for a follow up bleed.
I would practice with a right heavy dodge forward strike and bleeder till you get the timing right, then practice different directions.
