Please, No More 'Alternative Reality" missions.

I don't know about everyone else, but I hate these missions. Like "Sacrifice the Weak". It does nothing for me in regards to the actual game, well only to break my immersion. Please Ubisoft, no more missions like this in future Far Cry's. And if it is a must, don't make them time based. It seems so "Gamey". These are the only thing that making me not want to play the game any furthur ATM.

Have to agree with you there. Those and the drugged up sections. I suppose if they took all those out though, that would be a huge amount of far cry 3, 4, and 5 gone!

Add another to the list who doesn't care for this sort of thing.

The otherwise brilliant Metro games are marred by these too.

    They are plot relevant.

I didn't mind them in the first few games, but it's gotten old now, especially the timed segments. I can understand having finished the campaign how they tied into the story, but I don't believe they're necessary. I mean, 1 timed run ok, but what what it in the end, 4 or 5, I lost count. 4 or 5 too many for me.

True, but that doesn't mean they have to continue with the weird stuff in the next Far Cry.

Only because they wrote the plot that way.

You're not alone. Many have shown less than enthusiastic feedback in regard to these forced capture sequences. ....and yeah, I agree that it does break the momentum in the game and can be quite annoying to say the least. Especially when playing co-op.

They could have still told the story in missions where I would expect to encounter sequences or events that would continue the progression of the narrative. ....but at least then, I would be the one to initiate it instead of it being forced upon me in the way that it is. ....and if I'm going to be quite frank, I don't find half of content in these events really necessary to understand the story nor does it provide me with a feel of immersion. ....quite the opposite.

These sequences have to be one of my biggest gripes about this game right now. I actually got to the point where I found myself less and less interested in the game by the third provence because of this.

    There's a story?!

Gotta' be honest, I've played 3 days of this game and unlocked it more than any other game I own. However, I know pretty much nothing about the story other than the main characters, and don'y really care as for the game is simply a sandbox for me to do whatever I want in whatever order I want. Cut-scenes got skipped, and if I got captured it provided a change of pace. It was/is a fantastic co-op game to play with mates and just have a blast doing what you want, and now the outposts can be re-liberated, that opens up some new gameplay options that I may not have considered on the first play through. Do I feel like I've missed out by not following the story? Not at all, because it's not really important to me in a game like this. I actually really enjoyed the mission variety.

Totally agree. When I found myself doing the ‘only you’ level again I thought the game was broken or I’d blacked out or something. So annoying to have to keep doing it. I’ve avoided Faith’s region until now because it just seems to get silly with zombies and animals that change. Not really wanting to have the world I’ve come to enjoy ruined beyond my level of tolerance.

If if they are never gong back to the realism of Far Cry 2, they should just split the franchise and create something new and without all the supernatural rubbish that ruined FC3 & 4 too.
