    Evolving Cards

How about a mechanic where u can evolve cards into more powerful versions with new abilities? I have an idea of how it could work:

The card is levelled up to a level where it says you can evolve it.

You will need an amount of certain item/s different than the usual upgrade materials as well as card copies, and coins or cash.

When u have the required amount of evolving materials you can select “Evolve” to transform it into a stronger form.

Evolved cards will have a new:

    -Name
    -Card Illustration
-Appearance on card and in battle
    -New or stronger ability
-Higher rarity (common becomes rare, rare to epic, epic to legendary)

Not all cards will be able to evolve and cards will only have one evolution.

When a card is evolved, it’s level is reset back to 1.

Any copies u get of the card in question will be evolved too.

Legendary cards probably will not have evolutions if the rarity increase is actually done.

Neutral theme cards may possibly be able to evolve into different themes or have dual themes to them (half neutral half adventure)

Themed cards may possibly be able to evolve to have dual themes (Adventure/Sci-Fi, Mystical/Fantasy, Adventure/Mystical etc.)

Examples of cards who could evolve:

    - Calamity Heidi (warcry, deathwish, or charged ability)
    - Bandita Sally (warcry, deathwish, or charged ability)
    - Dogpoo (warcry, deathwish, or charged ability)
    - Hookhand Clyde (warcry damage 2 random enemies)
    - Zen Cartman (enemies damage themselves while he uses his ability)
    - Deckhand Butters (deathwish heals 2 allies)
    - Astronaut Butters (speeds up 2 allies)
    - Paladin Butters (shields 2 allies)
    - Alien Clyde (poison 2 random enemies)
    - Catapult Timmy (launches 3 or 4 rats)
    - Pope Timmy (revive the 2 most recent dead allies)
    - Gizmo Ike (splits into 3 or 4 gizmo Ikes)
    - Angel Wendy (heals all allies including new kid)
    - Pocahontas Randy (summons 2 indian kids)
    - Sexy Nun Randy (summons 2 choirboys)
    - The Amazingly Randy (summons 3 or 4 c***s or 1 or 2 pigeons alongside c***s)
    - Princess Kenny (deathwish reduces attack of enemies in radius to zero)
    - Shaman Token (charged purifies all allies on the field)
    - Kyle of the Drow Elves (area damage)
    - Powerfist Dougie (freezes enemies near enemy new kid)
    - Cupid Cartman (warcry, deathwish, charged ability or area damage)
    - Big Gay Al (area damage)
    - Dark Mage Craig (warcry reduces attack of enemies near enemy new kid)
    - Outlaw Tweek (dynamite deals area damage)
    - Robin Tweek (increases max health of nearest 2 allies)
    - AWESOM-O 4000 (freeze and damage enemies)
    - Ice Sniper Wendy (freeze and damage 3 enemies)
    - Unholy Combustion (kill 2 units)
    - Lightning bolt (hit 2 enemies)
    - Prophet Dougie (stop new kid’s energy charge and stop charge of enemy units near them)
    - Choirboy Butters (deathwish gives 1 energy)

I actually did manage to come up with some names for evolved cards (sorry if they don’t sound good Im not good at making up names)

    Bandita Sally > Desperado Sally

Kyle of the Drow Elves > Drow Elf King Kyle

In a different online card game that I played for 5 years they did this sort of function. They added little change to card art, and asking the dev's to change the art to like a different costume is actually a big pain. The card art they mainly changed in the other game was adding a border that went from bronze to gold as you leveled them up. Since they already did that to distinguish between the rarity of the card Legend gold epic silver etc. they would have to do something different.

Also I highly recommend against this. It really made the other game eventually ridiculous to used to playing it daily, to now I go weeks without even turning it on. In that game I'm in a top clan and have even reached rank number 1 before, so very experienced.

The real issue with evolution is that you are taking away from the cards originality. Even the modifications they do to walk speed and things like that nerfing or powering up as the terms many players use, are somewhat of an evolution but its meant in a sort of balancing way. In the other game, getting the right skill or evolution greatly shifted the level of power. Additionally you have no idea what a pain and I mean a major pain it becomes trying to get multiple and multiple copies of the cards to evolve them even more.

This game uses a donation system to other players which is nice, the other game did not, and even with that system in the somewhat inactive clan I'm in, I still can't make a level 5 card, I don't have the materials nor the number of cards. Even if we had that system in the other game, it's just such a hassle and it honestly makes the game more annoying.

Novel idea, it's been done before, and it does not make the game more fun. Its more tedious until eventually its a bore.
