    The ending...

I will only say one spoiler about the ending: It's rubbish.

I would use a stronger term, but it's a 'family friendly' forum...

Give up hope all those who enter the final mission...

Totally agree mate. What an absolute let down in both endings.
I know when it comes to Far Cry endings, nobody wins. But up until Far Cry 5, that hasn't included the customer.

No answers, no info, and the DLC doesn't look like it will expand upon the ending. Just more fanciful expanded universe stuff for $45AUD.

Problem with the ending is it means everything you do is meaningless and you, the player character, are irrelevant.

    Stupid ends.

I agree with all. I spent many hours cleaning county from fanatic religios cult, I killed hundreds enemies including three subboss. And finaly I was captured by main rival. This is most stupid end of game I have played.

Ya know fellas, it's a game here we are discussing - ya don't actually have to play the ending.

Once I read about it online and became aware of the endings I decide not not play that part - it's easy, just start a new game after defeating John, Jason and Faith then opt out - and make the choices YOU prefer to make in it. That's why it's called a game ain't it?

ps - much like Robert Duval's line in Apocalypse Now "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning, smells like DEATH" well I love the screams of smart mouth'd peggies when I light-em up using the SPA12 and incendiary ammo........ It's supposed to FUN, "make it so"

Are you saying if you go for the hidden ending right at the start you can explore the open world as if the game ended?

NOPE - I meant what I wrote, I started a New Game when the game forced me to have my show-down with the Father.

[added: I wrote this in another thread here which illustrates my feelings on this issue of the ending - (2 bad choices are never a choice in my old mind - FYI, us old farts don't play those games only children do)]

That effectively ended and deleted my first play-through of the game and I began again at the beginning - except this time I happened to read a post here about the FLAWED RP POINTS SYSTEM AND HOW THE GAME AUTO-DELETES story and side missions which caused me to realize I don't have to play UBISOFT's game I can play my own game - avoiding the abductions for the most part, doing only the missions that get me Perk value - like Dinner Time and Nature Provides (which allow one to use Hunter's Instinct more efficiently).

I attack outposts and loot the safes but NEVER LIBERATE THEM, and you can do this over and over again - as they re-spawn when I'm off in another Region doing the same thing.
    .
I recognized the CULT VIPs and kill their cohorts but don't kill them - again avoiding the RP Points build-up

Ya get enough RP points by simply walking around - I don't rescue folks, I kill their tormentors but leave them tied up - again avoiding the RP points - note - some times I deliberately draw off the VIPs away from the hostages, (as they are too plentiful and costly points-wise to kill) - if the hostage escapes or simply waits there who cares, as after that I don't care for I generally zip off in fast travel to another region - again to avoid the un-necessary RP.

I play my game my way just as anyone that takes the time to read here at the forum and understand the mechanics of the game can easily do.

I take long walk into the nether regions of the game - finding "single" Perk mags in places most miss.

I don't care squat for trophies or accolades for doing it UBISFOT's way I just like have fun with it - but then my idea of FUN involves shooting loud-mouth's peggies with the SPA12 loaded with incendiary ammo and laughing while they scream as the flames cook'em. Making peggies come after me over there while I'm over here raiding their goodies and keeping close count on how many are left

Ya, I know, I have a sick sense of humor, but at-least it's fun and I don't have to complain or feel bad for the money I spent on the purchase, it's a game - sometimes ya just have to remember that part
