To preface this guide, please be aware that enemy behavior may be different in your game. This is due to their dynamic AI. However this guide should give you the essence for you to tackle this (absolutely ridiculous) mission and get yourself Sam's NVG. The NVG itself comes with animation, the iconic high-pitched tone sound effect, and black-and-white view. Hopefully that will lubricate your ding-**** to reinvigorate your passion in case you have given up. Now let's begin.

OPTIONAL STEP
I recommend you to turn off Tier One mode and switch to Arcade difficulty. You need to put aside your pride if you have failed multiple times. Of course, this is optional and you can play it however you like. But let's face it, nobody gives a f*ck whether you complete this mission with your Tier 1 grade character.

START
By the standard, you will get a call from Sam at 21:00. Instead of waiting, you can just head to western La Cruz and find an Unidad base called FOB VIBORA. Approaching this place will give you a warning, put you in the failure screen, and then respawn you at nearby position and automatically at 21:00 so you can begin immediately.

PART 1 - Infiltration

1. Starting from the respawn point, your location will be at a grassy area just across the FOB VIBORA. Tell your Teammates to HOLD. Use your Binos with Thermal Vision and start scanning while you are heading to the right hand side. When you spotted the Sniper, tag him for Sync Shot.

2. You will see a rail track and a watch tower. Now cross the street towards the rail track and you will find an opening. But I don't want you to get inside from here. Instead, walk outside the concrete wall past the watch tower. You will find yourself an uneven terrain with rocks and trees. On your left hand side, there will be a couple of bridge over a dry moat leading to the core area, which has the building you need to infiltrate.

*You should also be able to find a watchtower nearby the building with Sniper on it. Tag him as second target for Sync Shot.

3. Walk cautiously behind the foliage towards that place. At the entrance, you will find two things: Jammer on the right, Power Generator on the left. This is the trivial part. Wait until you find yourself an opening to get to the Power Generator. Break the lock and turn it off. You will enter Suspected status now. Or if the building is free of guards, you can just directly run to it and meet Sam.

4A. If you decided to switch off the Power and it's too crowded to move, you can try using Flare to draw their attention away. They usually will slowly walk towards it and the attention-gaining radius would be quite far. If it's good, creep your way out of the Power Generator and slowly cross to the building where Sam is at.

4B. If the enemies are surrounding the building and leaving you in awful position, do your best to sneak back out to the trees again (which should be at your left hand side right now). Then follow the barbed fences all the way down until you see another concrete wall. Going further a little bit, you will see an opening on the concrete wall, with torn barbed wire and rocks for you to step on to climb over the wall. You will be at their hangar with helipad around. Head to the left to make your way towards the building.

PART 2 - Defend

1. Stupid part comes and there's nothing you can do. Remember when you tagged the Snipers? As soon as you're done with Sam's chatter, command Sync Shot and Regroup. Don't forget to call Guns for Hire.

2. Crouch and place yourself in a tight spot in-between Sam's butt and storage rack. Keep on your toes until your buddies are arrived. It's time to use Spotting Rebel Support if you haven't.

3. Spam Guns for Hire. Pinpoint Rebel Diversion near the gate.

4. When attack choppers are there, tag the pilot and perform Sync Shot this will buy you some time.

5. There should be a few Unidad cars outside. When it's clear and Sam is about to get ready to leave, grab yourself one and let him in.

PART 3 - Exfiltration

1. From the main exit, head towards right hand side. The road will be branched. The left one leads to a bridge and there will be several Unidad personnel expecting you. Take the right one and use alternative path.

2. You will see a rail track. Get on it and follow the track. You will cross to Flor de Oro via the rail track bridge and a small, next to empty Unidad Freight Train base.

3. After you passed through that, you will find yourself driving next to a street. Switch yourself and follow the road, crossing the bridge ahead back to La Cruz. From here on, just make your way to La Cruz Alpha. You're done.

I'll share my strategy

Infiltration:

This method worked consistently and always let me enter the target building without fail.

Infiltrate in from the southern most point, from the high ground (You'll spot a couple of helis). You should be able to sniper the generator from here before sneaking in. There is a break in the wall next to a bunker. Watch out for the guard inside the bunker and a Sniper on the watch tower closest to you. Once you enter, head left - towards the parked truck. Get in and drive all the way to the target building - the UNIDAD don't suspect you and you park up close to head inside.

Apart from that, It's a matter of patiently waiting inside while Sam finishes the hack. Pro Tip: Don't order the AI to do anything..let them hang around you....giving them any orders makes them visible to UNIDAD. Once the hack is complete...leg it towards the east.

And I too pre-marked the Snipers for the sync shot...excellent tip.
