Howdy, agents!
I've had the 6PC for a while but never really gave it a try...Until now. And omg is this set a blast to play! I started using it since I managed to get a Big Al with Destruction and Predatory.
My question is, what's are some good stats for this set? Currently I have Stam at 5,200 (for Predatory) and Firearms at 7,300 while electronic sits at about 3,000. Here are my stats with Big Al....
CHC - 6.50%
CHD - 33%
HSD - 134%
LMG - 32%
DtE - 40%
EAD - 38.50%
HoK - 5%
Everything else is 0%.
Also I have health rolled on backpack and chest, with HoK on my gloves and CHC on my holster.
Is there a way anyone here thinks I could change to better this build? I also switch my secondary from Hungry Hog with Destruction and Predatory to a L86 A 2 with Predatory/Unforgiven/Determined (Free slot).
It's up to you, but I'd personally stick with the Hog. Big Al is best for murdering the powerful people (bosses) or getting a big boost at the start (killing one or two people on the first clip, assuming Berserk doesn't fire up, and getting Predatory running). Then for Crowd Control, switch to the Hog for constant, long-term fire with tremendous damage that just keeps going up and up.
That's my feeling, but I play Lonestar as a support weapon system to the other people in the group, providing constant fire downrange, suppressing groups if they charge while killing people in said group, interdicting areas of the battlefield, stopping up chokepoints, pouring fire into a boss non-stop, that kind of thing.
It's trickier on Legendary, due to the damage the enemies put out - one needs to have a Reclaimer in the group, and having Self-Preserved also helps (my crit-hit chance is set up higher, due to this), but it can be managed simply by the Suppression system (keep suppressing people, they're not firing back...then pour gunfire into whatever is exposed). But certainly on Challenging and Underground and the like, it's absolutely murder.
Honestly, it's looking pretty good. The HOK will help with keeping you up, even if you go the Hog route. And if the L86 is working for you, great.
I'm in the same boat I feel I do better at being more "support DPS" with being able to suppress whole groups, while also melting those out of cover... Really loving this set. I'm still toying around with the guns still. I just had a Blackmarket M60 drop with Predatory, Destruction and Ferocious in the free slot.Originally Posted by Sharpandpointy Go to original post
Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll roll with the hog for that constant rain of bullets.
The build looks pretty darn good to me.
Similar to mine.
My stats are a little different to unlock Ferocious and Destructive on my Hog.
My actual primary weapon is a Deadly,Vicious Big Al though.
I'm not a big Lonestar guy though. So I'm not going to be giving any advice. All I will say is that as a PvE player, your numbers look good to me.
Lonestar is my favourite off meta build. I use two, for PvE and PvP (bit that one needs a healer shadow).
For PvP it's double mg5's with RoF mags and CHC/CHD on everything but the backpack and knees. Setup in 6/6/
For PvE I prefer the MG5 over the Hog too, and the big A is also a great option. I use a slightly unconventional setup with 7/3/5 and using determent to quickly get Tac-link and overheal back.
Against crowds of lesser NPC’s, I feel it’s hard to beat a Hog that’s continuously putting out heavy rounds gaining 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50% more damage, all from a magazine that numbers either 112 rounds or 220. That it can also proc Berserk means it just...keeps...firing that way, over a tremendously extended period of time. No need to re-aim. No need to restart or reload, even to take a break for swapping guns. And against non-boss Elites, one doesn’t really need an enormous rate of fire – the heavy-damage rounds coupled with the Glutton bonus do the job just fine.Originally Posted by BR0TH3R_H00D_ Go to original post
Sure, that M-60 gets a better start-up with a 10% bonus off the bat, but kill one dude with the Hog without stopping firing and you're there. Then past with the second death.
The only issue with the Hog is that it takes time to train oneself to never, ever stop shooting - switching targets, waiting for people to show themselves, whatever, don't stop. Even if everyone is under cover, pour fire at the tiny slivers of heads you can see (and take that talent that gives +25% headshot damage once you've suppressed someone, it helps!).
That's my feeling - mileage may vary, and we need to find our best possible setup for our own method of play. For myself, I've always preferred support roles than being the hero, so this works for me.
My Lone-star set I use is not fully optimized yet still got the backpack and guns to do.
My build so far is 6.6k FA/6.5k Stam/3k Elec I average out at 20 to 30% DTE(gun depending) and 41% EAD
My weapons I use well I have a mix of 3 I change around.
My Big - Al with Destructive/Vicious and cover shooter giving me 20% CHC and 81% CHD
MY MG5 with Destructive/Vicious and Fierce giving me 28% CHC and 101% CHD
My Military L86 LSW with Destructive/Predatory and Deadly gives me 15% CHC and 116% CHD
It's so much fun to use and can melt rather fast especiallyt when Berzerker kicks in.
Gotta love those two minute bursts. lolOriginally Posted by Sharpandpointy Go to original post
