Since day 1 I have had a couple of severe issues with the multiplayer rendering it unplayable for me
- My hits do not seem to register on opponents even though there is no apparent latency issues and normally I have a very good ping rate. I can unload 3 clips into an opponents face and it seemingly does no damage.
- Multiplayer take-downs are completely broken for me - I get stuck in a frozen animation and appear to become invisible to other players, I am then forced to exit the game as I cannot move or re-spawn from this position.
An update on these issues would be appreciated - as a map-maker it is disheartening that I cannot play the multiplayer component of the game!![]()
Multiplayer design is not what I care for. Maps are way too small and time too short. Some maps have helicopters and planes, but have such limited space to maneuver it’s pointless. FC4 had great playing multiplayer, but never any new maps. FC3 had great maps from both Ubi and custom, but gameplay was a bit sketchy.
It would be great if maps were at least four times larger with longer time period and a better interface to select the maps you like or make. And what’s up with no longer having take down option or landing option from from wing suits? Two weeks of FC5 and it’s already boring!
It was not possible to publish MP maps in FC4, only single player/coop story missions.Originally Posted by sgt_grunt Go to original post
I too find the servers very bad. Names not showing on enemies, and unable to publish maps due to Ubisoft's error messages when my maps validate and meet all of the criteria.
We, the players are not to blame for this. As for any rectifications, well these problems should have been sorted out before the game was released.
If there had been information released about the MP and the map editor and full details of what the lobbies would look like pre-release (maybe 6-12 months pre-release), there would have been plenty feedback on problems that would naturally arise.
It seems the ethos that exists hurts the players as the end result.
As a serious map-maker, I suffer from Ubisoft's error messages, Redhorn 800000B. Or Snowshoe. There is not enough time to select a map I want to play in Arcade. When I do play arcade its laggy due to the terrible servers used. No investment, no reward - unfortunate for Ubi that they spend so much of their resources for the campaign, and yet again making a game that is incomplete, with the MP sadly letting the whole game down due to minimum investment into it on Ubisoft's part.
Why could Ubi not publish new maps for multiplayer? There are many games that have new maps added at later dates and sometimes they are offered for free. There where lots of areas of the campaign that never saw the light of day for multiplayer. I never understood why Ubi didn’t just open other sections of maps used in the campaign for additional multiplayer maps. I would have purchased a new map pack if offered! I would gladly trade FC5 for new multiplayer maps in FC4. FC4 is a much better game.Originally Posted by rioseven Go to original post
