I know i said im only making sp maps, but i think i can make small tdm version of my preppers gorge map just for fun. the map would have nuketown style action because of the size, 2 teams either side of the river (can be crossed) would you want body armor to slow the action down a bit or chaotic no body armor (fast deaths) ?
What ive finally decided on doing in my last map is, giving body armour to each class other than the ones with shotguns, which seems to work better mate, for balance. End of the day, headshots are king
Look forward to playing it!
In other news...
I played a fun little map called "Shovel Dodgers" LOL. Yeah..just..shovel throwing, in a small little map, with a gap separating the two teams. Played it twice...couldnt hack it a third time tho lol. Was fun still
Def got me thinking....
I had a bit fun yesterday playing shovel dodgers.Originally Posted by Ol Barakus Go to original post
I have made a Gunner loadout, LMG and shotty - no armour. The other loadouts have armour,
LMG and shotty are pretty Over Powering. I also give snipers a bit more in the way of proximity mines, so they can lay a few around them if they want to sit an camp. Fair do's snipers get no credit in this game lol.
You can also control the action by the time limit, the death count, amount of spawn points, and the size of the mapOriginally Posted by AW LOST SOLDIER Go to original post
I think the body armor is secondary. I've only seen 1 map where I found body armor, but I couldn't pick it up (maybe my loadout already had it?) don't know.
Body armor doesn't matter if you sneak up on people, which happens A LOT in TDM and DM maps.
I would suggest to place body armor in certain areas, where not everyone will be wearing it.
The reality is that you'll get players who play slow (steal, sniper types) and people who brawl out.
I think too much armor will annoy the brawl out peeps.
I added them into my first map, thinking they were a constant thing...didnt even know you had to take them, before it worked. I dont think anyone really wants to select loadout, ammo type, gun function (full auto/burst/singe), and them go into ANOTHER menu to select homeopathics (is this what you meant mate?) at the start of each life.Originally Posted by Manlius10A Go to original post
Really would love to be able to add speed/health/power/jump etc, skills on a 1-5 ability to each class. Would be a cool way of balancing them out for each map maker, on each map, WITHOUT having to go thru menus each time, or even once...
