    Ubi Please fix the cars

The cars themselves and for the most part their handling is all really good, it just bothers me that they all go the same speed, or seem to. Whether I am in a truck or the mustang looking sports car they all seem to have the same acceleration and top speed. When I am in a Mustang at full speed a 4x4 truck should not be able to pass me, turn around and then catch me and flame my ***. It would also be cool to me if you could see your character shifting gears in cars with Manual transmissions or switching from park to reverse or drive when in automatic transmission ones.

The only vehicles that seem to have different acceleration are the big trucks and then they have the same top speed when you get them going.

In an ideal world we'd have all these things, but I think we need to remember this isn't a driving simulator. If you drive the saloons you can kind of RP gear shifting, as there's only one hand on the wheel. In fact I think this is why they choose to show the left hand on the wheel, when all the gun use indicates a right-handed person.

We heard you the first time.

And guess what? Whether or not there's anything wrong with the cars is purely subjective.

I agree with the OP. In fact, options, controls and physics in this department are something Ubi doesn't ever seem to get right IMO/IME whether it's WD, FC or GRW. I will say that FC5 is actually an improvement in regard to their ground vehicles but they still lack sophistication (even in a more simpler sense). On the other hand, the aircraft are downright pitiful in this respect.

We're not asking for FC5 to be a driving or flying simulator but if you're going to have these components play a big part in your game (like they do in FC5), they deserve more refinement or at least an option for those that want that experience. Games like GTAV and BF4 are certainly not simulators but their controls/physics are just real enough to feel more engaging, challenging and fun. In FC5, they simply are not IMO.

    Are you playing on PC?

On the PS4 I didn't like the chopper controls, but then discovered I could change them to classic and it's a massive improvement. Planes I have absolutely no issue with, in fact I think their handling is very nice indeed. I love how once you get it up to speed, it switches to cruise control until you decide to slow down, at which point all you need worry about is direction with the left stick, and enjoying the beautiful vistas with right stick. I find the plane controls very very intuitive.

Land vehicles. I initially wasn't keen as the vibration and rolling when on rough ground felt a little OTT, but I very quickly accepted this and I think the way you can accurately trace the curves of the road is very satisfying.

I'm playing on PS4 as well.

I would find the planes tolerable if the controls made sense. .....like the rudder (yaw) being assigned to the bumpers or even the L/R of the right stick. The left stick should control the elevator and ailerons (pitch and roll). The way they have the ailerons tied to the bumpers makes absolutely no sense to me. The only other option they provide is to have a blended control for the left stick that combines the rudder and aileron in the L/R movement which feels unnatural and makes some maneuvers more difficult.

As for the helos, the controls are "ok" until you realize that you can control the angle of attack while direction of travel is completely unaffected. ....in other words you can pitch the nose down in a hover (for example) and the helo doesn't move. Normally pitch would change with the direction of travel.

Changing the AOA of the main rotor is how helos fly forward, backward and side to side depending in the direction the cyclic is moved and naturally the fuselage reacts accordingly by pitching forward for example. .....and collective is used in conjunction to maintain altitude.

However, what I don't get is this magic control Ubi added to independently adjust the pitch of the fuselage nose up and nose down independent of the cyclic since it has no effect on movement. You literally can adjust the AOA of the airframe drastically up or down while maintaining a steady hover.

To be quite honest, the controls in BF4 and GTAV are represented more realistically than this and they are what I would still consider "arcadey" but with enough realism to feel more natural with just enough challenge to still be fun. .....cyclic, collective and antitorque pedals. .....yoke, throttle and rudder pedals.

What we have in FC5 is really wonky by comparison and this includes some of the basic physics. .....like the feeling of weight and momentum which FC5 doesn't translate well or simply lacks. I could even forgive the physics if we just had an option for button assignments that had a more traditional layout. I guess that's all I'm really looking for is just another option for more standard controls.
