AI will always be the downfall

If the team spent as much time perfecting the enemy AI as they did on the design aspects like the map this game would be a 10/10. But after a solid year of playing and a new year two pass which will be more of the same it’s a shame that any tactical scenario in this stealth/action game is completely void due to AI programming. It’s a real dissapointment too because the lack of AI “stupidity” and their ability to know your exact location completely destroys the immersion.

Guillie suit, vegetation, suppressed weapon, hundred+ meters out. It doesn’t matter. Laser beam focus right to you. Mortars? Oh I see where you are now. I’ve just about tried everything playing this game and the immersion is totally lost on the enemy AI and their ability to see you anywhere.

There’s no rhyme or reason to it either. No “patrols” to find you. No randomness to anything. I wish the Work didn’t go into so many cosmetic items because the real work that this game needs and always needed since day 1 was enemy AI and team AI programming.

I know it will never come but every once in a while when I’m really grinding away at the game I need to write a post in hopes that future games will have a focus on AI to ensure gameplay is at its best.

Vegetation makes no difference? Are you sure, because bushes do.

There is an in-built game mechanic that will draw the AI to your location when you break stealth and initiate a hostile action. Whether that should be there for all actions, yeah good debate, bit it is in the game primarily to provide a challenge and also because the game assumes you initiated some actions to create an ambush.

However, hiding in a bush, relocating, using flares, using the rebel diversion and using the AI team all work to avoid them finding you. Can post videos if you're interested.

SOME vegetation does allow stealth, that said.. ghillie suits should have been given a stealth bonus of some nature!!! with no radio call and no shouting, how do opfor from across the base know exactly where we are and where to drop the mortars?
