Another 6 or 8 months at least were really needed on this before it got put on sale, and it is clear as daylight (if the time of day doesnt get stuck)
The amount of bugs, poor AI, constant spawning enemies, missing weapons, obvious oversights should never have made it past QA. Another game shoved out the door to make a release date.
Even the basic gameplay principal is massively flawed.
A resistance meter that fills up way too fast resulting in forced story segments (that make no sense) only to render that part of the map barren once completed and no initiative to keep playing.
It is as though there were 2 seperate lead teams working on this and both pulling in seperate directions.
One team wanting an open world with no map for you to hunt and fish and so on...
The other wanting to force you down one road after another with no choice.... and both ideas crash head on into each other constantly throughout the game.
Now I know patches can address some of these issues, but that leaves us with a game without those patches broke and unfinished, and I find that infuriating.
Very dissapointed in UbiSoft for not learning after AC Unity
Hii and as a new member allow me to welcome you to the forums, I do feel you may be one of the people that have come across a fair share of the annoying bugs, I know I've had my share of a couple, however I do feel (personally) you may be coming across a little exaggerated. I definitely agree 100% on the spawning enemies been a bit of a pain (the endless planes while hunting @_@) and the fact the resistance meter does fill up by farting in the general direction of an enemy, but I wouldn't really put this in the same boat as Unity, not by a long shot.
There was a lot of time and consideration put into the world building and small attention to detail that I feel helps forgiving the bugs that it's come with, which like you said can be addressed with patches, I know people all have different palates and opinions so ultimately I'm sorry to hear you're having such a negative time out of this.
Personally I think it's another staple along with Assassins Creed: Origins and Rainbow Six: Siege to show that Ubisoft are capable of making great games with the right post-launch support and I know they will continue to with this as they stated. I'd suggest maybe trying again in 6 or 8 months and there's a good chance most of your grievances may be patched![]()
Rubbish ! You are talking out of your ring bit ... obviously have no clue whatsoever regarding what goes into the making of a game of such huge scope & magnitude. There are bugs and some flaws for sure but your totally over the top and ridiculous appraisal is an absolute insult to the men & women who toiled long hours over a long period to make such a masterpiece of fun & adventure.
Too harsh back at ya ? Maybe, but the amount of whingey whiney topics on these forums is out of proportion to how good the game is despite few problems. Not you in particular, but this sort of tripe needs to be labelled for what it is. Play the game and enjoy or don't but get some ferking perspective !
So much attention to detail but if it doesn't have a weather system... It's like a car with bluetooth stereo and crank windows.Originally Posted by xX_MissFire_Xx Go to original post
Thankyou for the welcome.☺
I agree there are positives. The map design, the graphics, the map editor... but they are all held back by these problems.
AC Origins was a perfect example of what extra development time can achieve as compared to Unity... I just cant see how it was acceptable to release this in the state its currently in.
Also giving it another few months to sort itself out is a disgrace, I paid good money for a product and I expect it too work.
You must have just been very unlucky as I've only experienced one bug and that was last night after Faith and her brothers, so I've put a lot of hours in already. I had that same issue with The Division and never, ever want to experience that again. The bug I found was with an elk. I would stand next to it, within 2 feet, and it would yelp, go into the ground with just its head sticking up and couldn't be killed. Really funny and sad I didn't record it.
I have no issue with the gameplay, except like you said, the resistance meter fills up a bit too fast. My only other issue is dogfighting, or lack thereof for our use of planes. Seems the enemy AI has far superior dogfighting skills over the player.
While from my personal experience, the initial premise is a tad exaggerated and, from the modern industry as a whole, slightly naive, it still has merit. Games are often released a bit early these days, for a number of reasons. Ideally we wouldn't be in a position of possibly having to wait for issues to be fixed before we can enjoying our purchase. It is, in the moment, understandably annoying, that it isnt working as intended.Originally Posted by ron444 Go to original post
There was no aggression from the op, or specific attacks, or "untrue" statements. It was a fair criticism.
It is people who respond as you did that need to "get out of the gaming scene". Comments like that diminish the "scene" for the rest of us.
It has been proven, pretty concretely at this point, that it is nigh impossible to release a bug-free game. The gaming industry has also shown that what a 100 people test and deemed to be stable and relatively bug-free, a million+ people will ALWAYS show to not be the case.
Developers, in many ways, rely on the consumers to help identify potential improvements for the intellectual property itself as well failings of the game engine.
The amount they can do in-house will always show to be lacking once the masses get a chance to play around with it.
I'd argue Far Cry (relative to many modern releases) is quite stable and playable at current.
Similar to BertandErny's post...i'd say there is merit to your stance and statements, but you went WAY hard with it. The hyperbole is a bit over the top and the tone will likely make a good deal of posters simply think you're either:
A) Very young
B) Very dumb
C) Very naive
D) Very troll
(possibly a combination)
Just tossing that out there =)
