First, you blatantly deceive us into thinking we'd be playing as Sam Fischer in your preview trailer, then you lied about how that mission would even be played out. You showed Sam sneaking around, silently eliminating enemies the way you'd expect.
Fast forward to the actual mission. You DON'T play as Sam, and you actually FAIL the mission if you attempt to silently kill anybody on your way to meet up with him. I understand you don't want to tell us exactly what the mission is before it releases, but to completely mislead us is absolute horse s**t. I was left feeling so unsatisfied upon completing this mission, I appreciate you continuing to update the campaign mode, but if you're just gonna blatantly lie to me about what I'm getting, I'd rather you not bother.
Also, the fact that user have been BEGGING for melee kills instead of dumb knock outs, and you respond to that by giving us that option ONLY by shelling out at least $20 (for the Predator blades) or $30 (for the Splinter Cell knife in the Year 2 pass) again is absolutely tone deaf on your behalf. I've been one of the biggest Ubisoft defenders on these boards, but it's getting almost impossible to defend your decisions as of late.
At no point did I say it wasn't challenging. I clearly stated that it was the bait & Switch that I was disappointed by.Originally Posted by CarolinaFrog Go to original post
Well, quite frankly, anyone could see with what little was being offered at the prices they were charging that this Year 2 stuff was not going to be "value" oriented. As far as the mission not being as the trailer depicted, lesson learned. NEVER buy content with the assumption it will be true to it's trailer.Originally Posted by HumanKevinJones Go to original post
Not that I excuse Ubi for it, but some of this (like misleading trailers even with new game releases like Watch Dogs) they've done before, and it doesn't exactly help when lots of forum members harp about I'll pay for this or that. You beg too much for things from corporate types, and what you get is them just going through the motions, and pocketing your money in the process.
That said, in Ubi's defense, even if the trailer IS a bit misleading, this game is about playing Ghosts, not NSA agents. So unless they actually TELL you you'll be able to play as Sam Fisher, don't assume it, it's just common sense.
I don't see how anyone would have thought they would play as Sam Fisher from the trailer. Sam specifically mentions that he needs help and to call the Ghosts.
Not to mention no other event/DLC had you playing as another character. When they were doing the Predator event, did someone think that they'd be playing AS the Predator? I saw both trailers and at no point did I assume I'd be playing as Sam Fisher. I assumed he would be involved somehow, which he is and it's pretty cool, and that some of Sam's trademark tools and gadgets would be unlockable and/or purchasable just like with the Predator event, which is exactly the case.
C'mon man. This is a pretty low effort troll.
That's just how good they are.Originally Posted by GunnyNinja Go to original post
