For sure. Many of the dudes are stating their reasoning and I'm clarifying specifics for both secondaries and backpacks. At least, in a realistic sense. More options are always better too.

Pick the Camelbak. Presto, no backpack.

Always having a secondary weapon doesn't really bother me as I just mod the MP7 to be as small as possible (stock collapsed, base magazine, folded grip, no suppressor) and equip it when I don't have need of a secondary. It fits nice and flush to the side of most of the packs in the game in that state and it's there if I should have an immediate need for it. Like a lot of features, it wouldn't bother me if the added the ability to unequip a weapon, though.

Yeah I do that too with the MP7 and the Shorty. But just to have the option go with one Primary shouldn’t be a big ask, all I’m sayin’.

An option for carrying one primary should have been in from the very start. Heck, even early promotional videos had the Ghosts carrying a single weapon and a pistol.

There should also definitely be an option to remove packs. Only on very rare occasions did my unit carry assault packs during missions - all of our stuff was usually left in the trucks when we dismounted. I had to carry my aid bag, the RTO had to carry their radios, but most everyone else had nothing. You want to be as light and mobile as possible in combat.

I always thought weight should have been a factor in this game and should have affected your loadout as well as your stamina (at least as an option). .....primaries, secondaries, sidearms, ammo, drones, grenades, etc. would all be a part of it. Changing this should have been limited to safe houses.

This would add another level of immersion and tension to the game. A player's loadout choices would have much more meaning in regard to their role on the team and a greater impact on how missions play out. Sure, things could go sideways and you could find yourself in a role you didn't anticipate with a weapon you wish you didn't pick. .....but that's the fun of it. .....adapting to unforeseen challenges.

That's just my take on it. I would still like to see the ability to only choose one primary as others are suggesting. I wouldn't think that it would be too difficult to add an empty option in the loadout and this would also serve to place more importance on the choice players make for their role.

Weapons and Backpacks should be something that we can un-equip. It looks cleaner and fits the "Blend in" premise of the game.

I can't really understand why, in a game with so many unlocks, it isn't done like in far cry, where you have 2 weapon slots primary and pistol, and if you want another you can unlock it.

There's perks to unlock extra grenades, mines, etc... but your weapon loadout is already fully unlocked?

Maybe not the most realistic way to do it but it fits with how ubisoft design their games.....

The one primary thing I don't really care about either way.

The more important change they need to make is not allowing the change of loadouts on the fly. Make it so people can only change loadouts at an ammo box.

I still don't understand why this should be implemented. I get it - it is more realistic, but no one forces you to do it during a mission. I typically always pick a loadout at camp and avoid picking up ammo during missions, but sometimes when I am testing guns or something I like to change it up on the fly. Or when I join a multiplayer session I might need to adapt to the group I am playing with. The only 'benefit' in adding this ristriction is to force other players to do so, but then again - why not simply ask them to not change equipment on the fly? Why force everybody to this limitation - even those you will never play with?

Agreed. Allow people to play however they'd like to. I have the self-control not to use the ammo boxes. What I personally don't like is the automatic pickup from bodies and how ammunition is basically universal. At the very least give me an option to press a key that will allow me to search a body for supplies. This way you can implement a system that allows you to get random items; Ammo, 1x grenade refill, 1x flare, etc. I never have the issue of running out of ammo even with ignoring ammo crates due to the auto-pickup.
