I didn't capture a screenshot of the area I used. However I can show you this... DO NOT enter from this side! Find a better entrance!!

I know it can be done from here. But it ain't the easiest way.

Well, I tried several Ways and found this one the best. Depends on your personal Style and Way of Approach.

    Strategy

This mission was very frustrating for me; took many, many tries. But I kept working my strategy until it worked. I entered the base through the open fence near the air defense system. Stay in the creek bed between the bridge and the drone jammer. From this position, take out a few lights, and shoot open the lock on the generator. Find the right moment to sprint over and shut off the generator, and sprint back. Then use the noisemaker drone to distract the Unidad away, then run up the stairs to meet with Sam. No guarantee these steps will ensure a one-and-done try.

For the battle, I stayed bunkered inside the building. I carried the HTI (or BFG-50) to take out helicopters, and the Mk249 for any foot soldiers. Call in rebel backup and keep your squad near you. When the time comes to escape with Sam, I ran out and went over the wall just outside the HQ building, then blew open the perimeter fence with a grenade. Run as far as you can, then I summoned a helicopter to travel the last distance to the safe house.

"Depends on your personal style and Way of Approach." I agree absolutely because I used the "shoot the lights" method too and I disabled the drone jammer. I crawled around prone etc. Diversion lures. I used that method first 6 times.

Then when it wasn't working for me I tried entering via the train tracks next to the road. That's a good way too but 4 more fails forced me to search for something better.

Finally on the last attempt it worked (under the sniper tower, there's 1 Unidad right at that climbing point but he walks away and comes back, and when he walks away its your chance.)

Nevertheless all 3 of my crew members died and Sam and I exited on foot. I wanted to go save 'em but after all the failed attempts... forget about it! But I regret leaving them behind. They served their country well hehe.

Sam and I found a van down the road and drove to the river. Went around the first road block at the bridge by "swimming across the river." BTW Sam swims VERY slowly.

Weapons used were Stoner, Desert Tech Sniper. Didn't shoot any lights. Didn't use lures. Didn't bother with the drone jammer either.

    Sams mission

How do you use the drone when it's being jammed?

    Sams mission

Shooting the lights only made them aware and I was soon detected.

Well myself I have parachuted onto the roof of the building sam was in. Hard part was survive the onslaught and get out of there...

But managed to do it somehow within 2h of trying so you should be able to succeed too

Hello, just finished it. The bruises on my head prove it!

Is the ability to "switch views" (the side you shoot from) disabled in this mission? For me it was and that ability is very useful when peeking around corners!

Also... I switched Tier 1 off to play this (yeah yeah I'm not on a suicide mission) but the difficulty setting stayed on Extreme. Now I didn't figure this out until I had failed the mission 6 times. In quick succession!

And believe me... after 6 tries the blood pressure goes up.

That said, after a lot of trial and error. 10+ attempts. I tried entering from every access point and started getting in close too (60 metres away, 30 metres away) only to fail time and again.

There is one way in where you can literally do it without using a single diversion lure. Its not very tricky neither. For the players who are struggling (and I'm sorry if this description sucks) but...

You climb up over a barricade (those wire blocks full of gravel or whatever) and its located right under a sniper tower (normally you can't climb over them but there's an intentional space and the option to climb is there.) As soon as you get over you start getting spotted. Stay crouched and move fast "left" zig-zagging to throw off the detection meter. There's 3 or 4 Unidad's who start seeing you. You just gotta' keep moving. Although its pretty safe behind these 2 buildings. Wait for a Unidad to walk past and then you go "in between" two buildings (there's purple all around both buildings but not in the middle between them, I guess that's how you can identify the area I'm talking about) and voila run to the door and you're in! No **** guys it took less than 30 seconds! Once I knew how to do it. Prior to that I was punching myself in the head. Can I replay the mission?

The fun part was defending him. Not the stealth part. I found a corner where I could cover all the Unidad approaches, the stairs, the helicopters, the snipers and yep even the windows. Both sides.

But the mission was heaps hard.

Tried that and landed and was immediately detected.

I couldn't use the drone until after I turned off the generator. Marked all of the targets on the way in using thermal binoculars.
