Mission to recon with Sam | Forums

I have tried this mission over and over and can not get even close. You can't kill anyone and you can't be detected and I've found no way past all the enemy guard's. I've even tried to halo in silently. I've used diversions and still am detected. It's pretty frustrating to make it so ridiculous that the average gamer has no chance to accomplish this mission. That and the Predator mission are the most frustrating parts of the game. I don't give up easily, but I'm not going to keep at this forever. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Playing on the easiest difficulty? Using diversion lures?

Dude, I was able to sneak in there on extreme difficulty. Use the lure grenade if you have to. Dude I kid you not, but there were actually 2 unidad soldiers who walked by me when I was on prone position. I really thought that I was going to be made, but I didn't.

Or you can try to get close enough, then launch a flare, drawing all the NPC's in the opposite direction, clearing a path to the building, where you meet Sam.

I just spammed Diversion Lures. I can carry 11 of the damn things. lol

It was hard, probably the hardest mission i've played on GRW, i also played it on extreme, took me about 3 o 4 hs of trial and error and the AI being detected half of the time. I dealed with the mission by sniping out all the lights, even the reflector lights (big round ones) or whatever are called in english, I approached from the west, there is a small part where there is no fence, near the SAM defense, dropped some mines on the dirt road and a C4 on the signal jammer, marked the snipers, met Sam, hell breake loose, exceuted the snipers, blowed the signal jammer to be able to use the medical dron. The hard part was to deal with, was the Unidad choppers, man those were a pain in the ***.

In tier 1 mode, getting inside is quite easy. The challenge is going outside without dying..

I have to admit I needed several Tries until I realized that the Guards are almost blind.
Use the eastern Side Entry, shoot the 2 Lights, prone to the Building, beware of that one Guard in the House where Sam waits.
Using Flares always caused Sam's Death after a few Seconds, don't know why.

Armored SUV - drive into the base up to the road that connects the helo area and Sam's building. Shoot the lights and you have a good starting spot to use lure/flares to get to him. I still have to manage the fight though, I guess I have to mark the snipers before going to talk to Sam and probably place some C4 at the jammer and on the road for a nice boom when the cars start coming in.
