    UbIncommunicado

Watching a Ubisoft major game release/patch-cycle is like watching a heavily armed octopus trying to negotiate its way out of a sushi restaurant with a mouth full of marbles. You have the weapons, you have the talent, but you can’t/won’t communicate to save your lives.

You have created a great game, what your lack of communication is doing to it, and your customers, is a great shame!

    COMMUNICATE!
    • Do not respond to individual issue tickets with generic boilerplate responses after a 3-5 business day wait. It’s insulting!
    • Do include detailed patch notes with your releases.
    • Do not leave your paying customers flapping in the wind with major, widely experienced, defects. I’d point to the day/night cycle issue here, although my personal game killer is the DeathWish version of the movie Looper.
    • Do publish a list of known bugs and their dev prioritization. I know, it’s like showing off your stretch marks, but hey, we’re all friends here.
    • DO NOT just parrot these “we’re listening”, “we value your feedback”, “your call is important to us” cliches. They just highlight how little attention is being paid.

Do please get off your hind quarters, understand that communication builds goodwill and start communicating with your audience on a daily (or even hourly basis). Surely you have the human capital to at least achieve that, even though identifying, triaging and resolving significant defects in such a complex and outstanding work will take some amount of time longer.

This is how you air your grievances.

I wish others would take note.
