What's up with the new RED missions?

There seems to be a few new Red missions and I guess the red means hard. So, how many have you received, as I believe that I've done two or three but I don't remember their names. How many are there, if anyone knows? I've only received them in the original land.

Yeah, that was one of them. But, I saw at least two different red signs at the same time. Then, when I completed both of those, a third red mission sign popped up. The stories seemed to be completely different. I did notice that the "incoming mission" had like three separate red signs all over Egypt. And, the second one regarding a particular person who was causing the trouble didn't seem like it was over. I remember in that red sign mission, I had to smash barrels of "Bribe wine" and I had to assassinate the person behind it. But, there was someone behind him too. Although, I did recognize his name from the story. And, I seem to recall having done a similar mission in the main story, but this one had a red sign. I also had to rescue some fighters, which again seemed like something that I had done in the main story. It's all coming back to me now. The "incoming threat mission was hard, I got killed the first time. The second time, I escaped. How did I play it a second time, you ask? I have separate two saved games at the same point. I mistakenly sold a favorite shield of mine so I played it again to get that shield back. I guess we can expect to see red missions pop up from time to time?

From my understanding, those are only for THOs DLC. If you finish them, that unlocks THO.

On my first save I unlocked it, and I haven't had red markers pop.up again since.

I know Incoming Threat and A Light Among the Dunes can be started in multiple locations- that's why you'd have it located on multiple parts of the map- just pick whichever is closest to you!

When I ordered and downloaded THO's, those missions didn't show up, because I went back to Egypt to farm Drachma, after completing THO's,
and those missions still didn't show up. Then, I went back to Egypt to get scrolls to level up during the COTP, and those missions still didn't show up.
It wasn't until I completed THO's and COTP that those missions showed up for me. I don't know, maybe its just me. But, THO's immediately asked to give me a ride to
the other area right away, when I downloaded it. Maybe it had something to do with my internet problems. Maybe it was different for me for that reason.

I'm not complaining, I'm just excited to know if we will get more red missions, or maybe those were just left over missions for me.

As others have said, they're linked to the DLC. You don't have to do them to play either DLC, nor do you have to buy the DLCs get them. I believe they come free with the main game and basically amount to in-game advertising for the DLCs.

Now, I see. So, they are new Missions that are advertising for the DLC's. No one said that. So, I guess it depends on when you get them and not whether you all had already finished both DLC's. lol.
It would make sense to have a mission introducing the living dead and then have a DLC that really gets into it. I was actually playing off line until COTP was released so that is probably why I didn't get those missions earlier.
