I'm confused and disappointed by the bizarre decision not to include some kind of mechanic whereby we can advance time in Far Cry 5. Far Cry 3 and 4 allowed a sleep function to make the time go by. Far Cry Primal allowed us to sleep at least until nightfall or sunrise.
In addition to fixing the current "permanent day" and "permanent night" glitches plaguing so many of us (myself included, stuck in a permanent sunrise), why not implement a way to manually advance time? Even Assassin's Creed: Origins had a meditation mechanic that let us advance to day or night.
Any comment on this?
The reason for controlling the day/night cycle in any game is in my opinion so that you the player can decide on when to do certain activities because it'll make a difference.
In FC2 it mattered, as night changed the AI as only one example. In FC4 it didn't matter as there was no change to the AI. Also in 4, it really wasn't dark in any case.
In 5 it's always a bright full moon on a cloudless night, no matter the moon phase being displayed. Plus there's no weather to impact how dark it could be.
The current design is ever so lame.
Night - is the most beautiful and mystery time. Night in the forest has its own unspeakable charm. If you experienced it you will understand me. But all that "advancing time" and "time managing" are killing the Night. Gamers will prefer to rewind night time or to "sleep". What a wonderful event they loose! Night! So......time managing - is the night killer!![]()
Well, ShadeNinja, I agree that the permanent day/night bug absolutely needs to be fixed, but having the option to pass the time just like we did in previous Far Cry games would only be appreciated. If you don't see the point in it, you'd be free not to use it. But I've played Far Cry since Far Cry 2 and have always had the ability to sleep and advance time somehow. I just want that option back.
If this is about the fact that there is now integrated co-op gameplay, then I don't know what to say. I'm a purely single-player gamer. I don't play co-op or multiplayer modes at all and care nothing for them. I just want to play and enjoy the game myself.

I think there is a way how to solve this problem!
If somebody doesn't like night, doesn't like to play in the night and want to sleep, as he usually does in every day life - he should have this ability.
But the Night itself shouldn't be missed in the game! Developers must outmaneuver such gamers. 1) There should be missions, situations, meetings.....that can happen only in the night!
2)Playing in the night must have its advantages.
3)Sleeping process must be interrupted sometimes by suddent event. Attacking, for example,
and someone wakes us up - "Wake up! Wake up!" in the middle of the night. Rather realistic.
Developers should trick gamers. For the game sake! (Good game consist of such tricks)
"You want to sleep in the night? No problem! Sleep as long as you want! There is freedom in Far Cry! Totall freedom!"
With one hand developers should give freedom with another hand - take it. It should be done for the game sake. But the Night shouldn't be missed.
