Texture Shifting after Publish - WHAT THE?!?!

    Umm...

    I'm confused.

After all my nit-picking about polish, I go and play my SP map on the Arcade, and I notice that the ground texture has shifted a good three or four feet.

All my paths are no longer painted on the ground properly! What the hell is that?! Do I need to go in, fix this, and suggest a deletion of a map, re-publish and gather views again?

    This is totally not cool.

Below is the view from the EDITOR, which is correct texture placement. Has everyone been playing a bad version? No wonder I have 2 stars.

YUP...after double checking, the only version that's screwed up is the published version. Are you kidding me?! This is enough to make me stop making maps.

You might want to set the time of day to daytime as I can't see a thing in your night map.

Ya, thought about that, sorry. Right click on image and 'open in new tab' and you'll see it better. I'd open arcade, screenshot, open PS and save it, upload it, and post it again, but I'm too hangry. Yes I said hangry.

Just look closely, and you'll see it. It's not pitch black. I even drew pretty little red lines to illustrate my issue. You'll see the point I'm making. It's actually not that my map is that dark, it's the contrast between the blazing white forum template and the image.

    Thank you sir.

The only reason I bumped this post, is because I just wasted so many hours polishing and improving my map and it happened again.

    ATTENTION UBI MODERATORS

It did it again. When I published my map, the paths no longer ride the paths. The textures are shifted a good 4 feet in-game.

This absolutely must be fixed, or I'm going to stop making maps. Having your textures line up with your physical meshes is hugely important wouldn't you say? And I can't keep requesting deletion of a map (which doesn't work anyway) to re-upload..

It only happens after I publish it. When I play test it, the textures are fine.

Yeah I'm sorry I can't see what you're talking about. The images are just too dark.

Have the painted trees also moved?

In the comparison pics the trees are in different positions.

Maybe you painted the whole area with trees, then applied the path, then changed the terrain? This could be why, although obviously it shouldn't occur. But maybe try clearing the trees... then reapplying them around the path.

Very strange to see the actual path move location. Hope you get it sorted out.

Not to be rude at all I promise but I can see exactly what I'm talking about. And even if I couldn't I've explained it so you don't need pictures. I even drew pretty red lines...lol.

The problem is the extremely bright white forum bg...just right click the image and open in new tab...that will get rid of all the bright distractions.

Yes it's dark, but it's not so dark you can't see the path and textures. I'm not even being difficult--on my monitor I can see the path and textures. Maybe your monitors need to be tweaked for brightness or gamma?

That would be very odd that the painted trees change the texture, I'll try that.

By the way, sometimes the editor will show a certain painted tree grouping, and when I 'play' it, the painted flora changes locations. I think it's just buggy as all get-out.

Yea, possibly it remaps the painted trees. I think there is a general slight difference from what we have in the editor to a published version on the servers. Lighting and scale for me seem to be visibly different.

I do see the differences after looking very carefully.
But i don't understand why it is a problem. It is because that light is now further away from
the path? Because then i would replace that light a bit more closer to the path, to close for
comfort so to speak. But in the released version it will then be at the right place.
I mean, recon with were things will be in the released version and work with that in mind.

I understand that you are frustrated, but i have to be honest and say it again. I don't see the
real problem here. The path has moved slightly, but is that really such a problem other then
that it is not exactly anymore at the place you placed it?

Maybe i am naief but i really don't see this as a big problem.
    Sorry,

    Leon
