Aim Assist Off but NOT completely

Even when I turned Aim Assist Off, the game still centers my look to nearby enemy, and slows down my crosshair when I aim at them. It does this to enemies within a close range (below 20m I guess).

I understand Aim Assist is useful for some. But for those who don't need it, Off should means 100% Off.

It's irritating... is this how the game set up, or a bug? Anybody having the same complain / issue?

    Hello iKaBanana,

Thank you for reporting this to us.

Could you provide us with a video example of this? Show you with the option off and then an example of the aim drifting/soft locking onto the targets?

    Thank you

I'm not the OP, but here's a video I took demonstrating some degree of aim assist on PC. I have already played many hours, and only just noticed it, so I suspect it only exists for melee weapons, which I pretty much never use. However, I personally think any degree of aim assist or control over my camera is unacceptable in the course of normal gameplay.

    Sorry for the late response.

Thank you. Your video pretty much sums it up. And it's not just for melee, it's for all weapons (at least for console). I've come across many players complaining about this aim assist issue across all platforms.

@Ubi-Holz Thank you for replying. The video kierkkadon conveys what I was talking about. But I can make a more in-depth video to show you.

Yep, that video kierkkadon posted is exactly the issue. Even if you turn off Aim Assist in the options menu, the game still soft-locks onto enemies. Not only does it slow your camera sensitivity down, it can take away control from the player if an enemy is close to you. And you're right, it's not just on melee weapons but with all firearms as well (Xbox version).
