    Limit ammo stock

Anyone else wish that primary ammo supplies were more scarce? I cannot recall a single instance where I have had to use my backup weapon due to primary ammo shortage.

Apart from hostage extraction, my pistol remains unused.

Not realistic since you are primarily targeting military or militarised targets. Would be more appropriate in a survival setting.

Just ignore them and play how you like. The garbage ballistics model already destroyed any sense of realism so unlimited ammo might as well exist.

You shouldn't have taken the carry more ammo Skill.

Sidearm is also useless unless you stealth shoot from close range.

ITs the automatic picking up of fallen enemy ammo which is the main problem....

Even if it doesn’t match the gun, you pick it up and replenishes you primary ammo.

IF this did not happen, you could easily handicap yourself by ignoring ammo crates.

The problem with that is, it wouldn't allow everyone to play the way they want, in a game that is all about giving the player choices. If someone wants to assault a base using shock and awe, against a base with 30 to 40 enemies, plus reinforcements, they would run out of ammo pretty quickly, if they had no way of increasing or replenishing your ammo supply. and then they are screwed.

It's being asked for as an extra choice, not a replacement over other choices. The one choice that is missing among all these choices is the one for the band of hardcore players that want a stripped down experience without "unrealistic" support. I know self regulation could in theory be used, but it just isn't the same, and this section of the community isn't being allowed to play how they want.

I couldn't agree more. Even with "self control" it's kind of hard dancing around dead bodies to avoid vacuuming up ammo.

Personally, I think it could add another level of immersion and tension to the game play. Dropped weapons from dead enemies might also become an option for once if the player finds themselves in a pinch.

I always thought ammo boxes could be thinned out more as well and weapon exchanges could be limited to safehouses. .....perhaps even a limitation on what can be carried in the secondary slot so more thought would need to go into a players choice depending on the role / mission.

.....again, as an option for those of us looking for more immersion, realism, hardcore experience.....

And people keep telling me that you and I will never agree on anything... Pffffft, what do they know!

    --- o ----

Now, more on the ammo boxes... the little that I played the game, the problem wasn't really that ammo boxes were anywhere and everywhere but that you could change your loadout at a whim and IIRC, your ammo would replenish miraculously when you got out of it? Or did this change with newer updates.

I personally would have no problem with them reducing the ammo count, since I always use my weapons on Semi automatic, even in the think of it. So I rarely need more than three or four magazines to clear out a base. Maybe they could change it so that ammo does not refill in extreme difficulty, since anyone wanting more limitations within the game, are likely already playing on the highest difficulty possible. And while we're at it, why not disable fast travelling on the harder difficulties? After all that is also not realistic, and would require the player to physically travel to safe houses to restock. before moving onto the next target.
