There's good reason to not have those in a published game but to know them you might first have to get your head out of your mindset and consider people in other places.

The swastika is banned in Germany. It would be a stupid move from 1C to include it because that would put an end to the game distribution there. Look at CoD:WaW for example. Germany demanded that the swastika was removed from the game before it was released there.

Well...you know, this is a game changer for me. I just CAN'T play a game that claims to be an authentic WW2 combat sim...if it doesn't have swastikas displayed in it. This demonstrates a wiliness to "cut corners"...I'm very, very upset by this. I think its more important to be authentic, then it is to sell units. Without the swastika...bullets will not have the same impact, ME109's will not fly proper...and history itself will come to an end.

I think it's been banned in Russia now too... there was a mention that this time around it wasn't going to be present at all due to legal issues with several of the countries that the game would be sold in... and I believe that included Russia too. Different from IL-2 in 2001.

What I find funny about IL-2, is that more people get upset about chute shooting than having swastikas burned into the rudders on their planes or their enemies planes.

People want swastikas because its authentic but if you chute kill someone (and shooting and killing is the point of this game and real life) its barbaric. Go figure?
